OTTAWA — Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau met teenaged Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg in Montreal Friday in advance of the cross-country marches that are expected to dominate the federal election campaign.

Thunberg revealed the meeting speaking with reporters.

“I try not to focus so much on individuals,” she said.

“He’s, of course, obviously not doing enough … this is such a huge problem, this is a system that is wrong."

"So my message to all the politicians is the same: to just listen to the science and act on the science.”

What is the best definition of science?

Science is the study of the nature and behaviour of natural things and the knowledge that we obtain about them.

A science is a particular branch of science such as physics, chemistry, or biology.

Physics is the best example of a science which has developed strong, abstract theories.

What is the true meaning of science?

The aim of science is to build true and accurate knowledge about how the world works.

The word "truth" is sometimes used to refer to spiritual truths or other topics that science cannot investigate.

To be interested in scientific truth, one doesn't have to reject other sources of meaning.

How are engineers and scientists different?

Engineers create useful products and services for the people to use, based on scientific research.

They use the knowledge provided by science to improve people's lives.

While scientists find a way to produce an energy source, engineers develop the components and devices so the whole community can use it.

A Professional Engineering license is a certification that demonstrates an engineer's adherence to a higher level of standards.

Prior to 1907, proof of skill and proficiency was not required for individuals to work as engineers, thus putting public welfare, health, and safety at risk.

Are you an engineer without a PE?

If you do not have a PE license, you cannot officially call yourself an engineer -- and your company cannot identify you as an engineer.
