IDIOTS, MORONS, AND SURREALITY IN AMERICA TODAY

Op-Ed: Idiots, Morons, and Surreality in America today

The following Op-Ed is special to the Mirror by Paul Plante

Actually, I was going to title this “History Should Be Our Guide in Ukraine,” but I didn’t for several reasons, starting with the fact that that title was already taken by a dude named Victor Davis Hanson in a RealClear Politics article on March 31, 2022, where he started out his essay by saying, and I completely agree with him, that there are “several historical referents we should keep in mind about the Ukraine war,” and there is where our thoughts diverge, mine and his, which is why I instead chose the title above, because while his version of history is more about some events, relevant, or not, mine is about the people who wrote that history, both recently, and going back to the end of WWI, when what we call Ukraine today was then the Bolshevik Ukrainian republic founded in December 1917, as Ukrainian Soviet Republic, after the Bolshevik Revolution started in Russia.

So, as we see, or shall see, what is called Ukraine today has no history of democracy, and in an Associated Press article titled “Ukraine president’s ratings fall as crisis with Russia brews” on February 14, 2022, we see “democracy” in Ukraine in more recent times described as follows:

Zelenskyy tried to calm the political turbulence Sunday by downplaying the stepped-up warnings from the U.S. about the imminent possibility of a Russian invasion.

“We understand all the risks,” Zelenskyy said, adding that if anyone has any “information regarding a 100% certain invasion, beginning on the 16th,” they need to come forward.”

The maneuverings and the dismay among ordinary Ukrainians present a significant challenge for a country where democracy has been shambolic for decades.

end quotes

Yes, indeed, people, in Ukraine, the Ukraine Joe Biden is backing with our U.S. tax dollars in his proxy war with Putin of Russia, democracy is shambolic and has been for decades, which is why Joe Biden is so interested in protecting it, because in the end, Joe likes to have corrupt strongman autocrats like this Zelensky loyal to him and son Hunter in countries like Ukraine with its long history of corruption which draws American politicians to it like flies to a family picnic.

The Ukrainian SSR was established by the Bolsheviks following the defeat of the Ukrainian People’s Republic in the Soviet–Ukrainian War during the Russian Civil War.

Throughout its 72-year history, the republic’s borders changed many times, with a significant portion of what is now Western Ukraine being annexed by Soviet forces in 1939 from the Republic of Poland, and the addition of Carpathian Ruthenia from Czechoslovakia in 1945.

And there is some essential history that this Victor Davis Hanson dude either is unaware of, or he simply chooses to ignore it, that taking of land and peoples from those other countries and awarding them and it to Ukraine, instead, as if that essential history, including the fact of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, a Ukrainian nationalist paramilitary and later partisan formation that during World War was engaged in guerrilla warfare against the Soviet Union, the Polish Underground State, Communist Poland, and Nazi Germany, playing a substantial role in the ethnic cleansing of the Polish population of Volhynia and East Galicia which now are part of what is called Ukraine, could not possibly be relevant to what is going on there today, which brings us back to the AP article “Ukraine president’s ratings fall as crisis with Russia brews” on February 14, 2022, where we find as follows as to who supports this Zelensky and who does not in what is in actuality a country cobbled together out of pieces of other countries, whether the people in those countries wanted to be part of Ukraine, or not, and so much for self-determination, to wit:

“The biggest risk for Ukraine and the biggest risk for the sovereignty of our state … is destabilization within our state,” Zelenskyy said last month.

But Ukrainians have little confidence that Zelenskyy can ensure that stability.

According to a January poll by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, only 30% of the country’s people want Zelenskyy to run for a second term and even fewer — 23% — would vote for him.

end quotes

In that, of course, the low ratings, I mean, this Zelensky in Ukraine is mirroring Joe Biden in this country, where Joe is not popular, at all.

So why isn’t Zelensky popular?

Let’s go back to the AP article to see what we can learn on that score, to wit:

The continuing conflict in the rebel east and the prospect of a full-scale war aren’t the only factors in his declining support.

“Zelenskyy promised to end the war and defeat corruption, but this did not happen,” said Anatoly Rudenko, a 48-year-old driver in Kyiv.

“Prices are rising, corruption has not gone away and we have begun to live even poorer.”

“The miracle did not happen.”

“The situation is only getting worse,” said Tatyana Shmeleva, a 54-year-old economist.

end quotes

And there is what attracts Joe Biden to this Zelensky – the corruption, because like everybody else, a politician has to eat, and when a politician eats, they want to eat well, and nothing pays a politician like corruption does, so there we have it, people.

A simple formula, indeed.

So who is this Zelensky whose action we should be backing in Ukraine, because Joe Biden tells us we have to?

Here is what AP has to say on that, to wit:

Zelenskyy initially made his name in Ukraine as a comic actor portraying on television a teacher who inadvertently becomes president after railing against corruption.

end quotes

Yes, people, Ukraine is going to war against Russia with a comic actor who has no military experience of any kind, let along experience of the real world outside a television studio, who is now threatening nuclear war as we see in the CNN article “US and NATO face new dilemma on Ukraine aid” by Maeve Reston on 18 April 2022, to wit:

As world leaders try to glean what Putin is thinking — and how far he might go in trying to punish the nations that help Ukraine — Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer, who met face-to-face with Putin last week, said it was clear that Putin believes he’s winning the war and is operating “in his own war logic.”

“He thinks the war is necessary for security guarantees for the Russian Federation.”

“He doesn’t trust the international community.”

“He blames the Ukrainians for genocide in the Donbas region,” Nehammer said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday, referring to the fictional propaganda that Putin has spouted to justify his acts of aggression against Ukraine.

“He is now in his world, but I think he knows what is going on now in Ukraine.”

Given the immense challenges of facing off against a leader with that warped and rigid mindset, Zelensky is trying to persuade world leaders to become more involved in the next phase by warning that they should be worried about the possible consequences of Putin’s next steps — including that he could use a tactical nuclear weapon because he has shown so little regard for human lives during his invasion of Ukraine.

end quotes

And with that bit of paranoia and hysteria in front of us, the threat that Putin is going to nuke somebody, let me stop here for the moment to let this all sink in.

Paul Plante says:

So where do we even begin to sort out this mess here, separating out fact from fill, so to speak, as we dig through what is obvious propaganda from straight out of Orwell’s “1984” with respect to exactly what history out of a long train of history with respect to Ukraine, where history goes back in time to 45,000–43,000 BC, when the Neanderthals were in charge there, followed by Gravettian settlements dating to 32,000 BC in the Buran-Kaya cave site of the Crimean Mountains, while in the late Neolithic times, the Cucuteni-Trypillian Culture flourished from about 4,500–3,000 BC, with the Scythian kingdom existing there from 750 to 250 BC, should actually be our guide in Ukraine, in an effort to determine exactly what the “several historical referents we should keep in mind about the Ukraine war,” actually are, which of course will always be subjective.

As to the Gravettians, they were hunter-gatherers who lived in a bitterly cold period of European prehistory, and Gravettian lifestyle was shaped by the climate.

Pleniglacial environmental changes forced them to adapt because west and Central Europe were extremely cold during this period.

So, is that essential history, which again is a matter of opinion, which makes it subjective?

If we go to a site called Encyclopedia of Ukraine http://www.encyclopediaofukraine.com/di ... kraine.htm to the section “History of Ukraine,” we see that indeed, they do carry their history back to “The Stone Age” where they inform us that the oldest traces of human existence in Ukraine, dating from the early Paleolithic Period (ca 900,000 BC) of the Stone Age, were discovered near Korolevo on the Tysa River in Transcarpathia (Korolevo archeological site) and near Medzhybizh on the Boh River in Podilia (Medzhybizh archeological site).

According to that history, archeological evidence indicates that by the Upper Paleolithic Period (40,000–15,000 BC) almost all of Ukraine was inhabited by clans of hunters and gatherers and during the Mesolithic Period (10,000–7,000 BC) Ukraine’s inhabitants engaged in fishing, had domesticated dogs, and used the bow and arrow; the first tribal units then appeared.

During the Neolithic Period (7,000–3,000 BC) primitive agriculture and animal husbandry arose, as did pottery and weaving with those activities being developed further during the Copper Age and Bronze Age.

As to “tribal units,” and this would be very relevant, in my estimation, as well as the kind of European history that fries the brains of Americans who try to make sense out of what doesn’t seem to make sense, at all, because it is so confusing as to who is whom, that history tells us as follows:

By the 6th century AD, the ancestors of the Ukrainians were divided into several tribal groups: the Polianians on the banks of the Dnipro River around Kyiv; the Siverianians in the Desna River, Seim River, and Sula River basins; the Derevlianians in Polisia between the Teteriv River and Prypiat River basins; the Dulibians, later called Buzhanians and Volhynians, in the Buh River basin; the White Croatians in Subcarpathia; the Ulychians in the Boh River basin; and the Tivertsians in the Dnister River basin.

These tribes had ties with the proto-Belarusian Drehovichians, the proto-Russian Radimichians, Viatichians, and Krivichians, and the Baltic tribes to the north; the Bulgarian Kingdom and the Byzantine Empire to the south; the Khazar Kaganate and the Volga Bulgars to the east; and the proto-Polish Vistulans and Mazovians, Great Moravia, and the Magyars to the west.

They also traded with more distant lands via international trade routes: the route ‘from the Varangians to the Greeks’ linking the Baltic Sea and Black Sea mostly via the Dnipro River and thus joining Scandinavia with Byzantium; the east-west route from the Caspian Sea to Kyiv and then to Cracow, Prague, and Regensburg, thus joining the Arab world with central and western Europe; and the route linking the Caspian and Baltic seas and thus the Arab world with Scandinavia.

Because they lived along or at the crossroads of these important trade routes, the proto-Ukrainian tribes played an important economic and political role in eastern Europe.

The tribes shared a common proto-Slavic language and pagan beliefs.

They built their agricultural settlements around wooden fortified towns.

Kyiv was the capital of the Polianians; Chernihiv, of the Siverianians; Iskorosten (Korosten), of the Derevlianians; Volyn (Horodok on the Buh River), of the Dulibians; and Peresichen, of the Ulychians.

The Polianians were the most developed of the tribes; according to the Rus’ Primary Chronicle, their prince, Kyi, founded Kyiv in the late 6th century.

Kyiv’s strategic position at the crossroads of the trade routes contributed to its rapid development into a powerful economic, cultural, and political center.

The tribal princes, however, were not able to transform their tribal alliances into viable states and thus protect their independence.

In the early 8th century, the Polianians and Siverianians were forced to recognize the supremacy of the Khazar Khaganate and to pay tribute.

In the mid-9th century, the warlike Varangians from Scandinavia invaded and conquered the tribal territories, and established the foundations for Kyivan Rus’ state with its capital in Kyiv.

As to the Varangians, that was the name given by Eastern Romans to Viking raiders, conquerors, traders and settlers, who were overwhelmingly ethnic Swedes but also including smaller contingents from Denmark and Norway.

Between the 9th and 11th centuries, Varangians ruled the medieval state of Kievan Rus’, settled among many territories of modern Belarus, Russia and Ukraine, and formed the Byzantine Varangian Guard which later also included Anglo-Saxons.

So, now, we have Swedes and Danes and Norwegians coming into the mix, ruling the same Kiev that this Zelensky is trying to rule today as a vassal state or principality in what is known as Biden World, or the Empire of Joe the First!

So who are the Ukrainians, then?

Getting back to the Varangians, according to the 12th-century Kievan Primary Chronicle, a group of Varangians known as the Rus’ settled in Novgorod in 862 under the leadership of Rurik.

Rurik’s relative Oleg conquered Kiev in 882 and established the state of Kievan Rus’, which was later ruled by Rurik’s descendants.

Engaging in trade, piracy, and mercenary service, Varangians roamed the river systems and portages of Gardariki, as the areas north of the Black Sea were known in the Norse sagas and they controlled the Volga trade route (between the Varangians and the Muslims), connecting the Baltic to the Caspian Sea and the Dnieper and Dniester trade route (between Varangians and the Greeks) leading to the Black Sea and Constantinople, which were the main important trade links at that time, connecting Medieval Europe with Abbasid Caliphates and the Byzantine Empire.

Attracted by the riches of Constantinople, the Varangian Rus’ began the Rus’-Byzantine Wars, some of which resulted in advantageous trade treaties.

Coinciding with the general decline of the Viking Age, the influx of Scandinavians to Rus’ stopped and Varangians were gradually assimilated by East Slavs by the late 11th century.

So, trade routes, which brings us back to modern times and an article on the website RailFreight.com titled “How important is Ukraine on the New Silk Road?” published on 25-02-2022, where we learn as follows about this highly convoluted drama pitting America’s own “Leader of the World” Joe Biden against the world he is trying to be the leader of, to wit:

Due to the Russian military attacks in Ukraine, rail freight on transit through the country (Ukraine) is currently suspended.

Freight trains running on the main China-Europe corridor – via Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus – run as usual, operators report on Thursday 24 February.

Some say that Ukraine is not that relevant for New Silk Road volumes.

How true is this?

Looking at the numbers, Ukraine is indeed handling a very minor share of the total rail freight volumes between China and Europe.

According to RZD Logistics, which presented the overall picture at the European Silk Road Summit in Amsterdam last December, transit through Ukraine accounted for 2 per cent of the westbound container traffic volumes on the New Silk Road in 2021.

Ukraine has attempted to re-establish its position on the New Silk Road for the last ten years.

Eventually, there was little trust in the country as a transit region, the rail freight industry mostly considered it to be politically unstable, a reputation which it was trying hard to contest.

This effort was starting to be rewarded in the past few years.

More and more operators started trial journeys through Ukraine, and with a positive result.

The country turned out to be less politically unstable, and very willing to increase the volumes passing through its territory.

In fact, the ministry of infrastructure was investing a lot of money to modernise the railway network, anticipating its growing role.

In January 2022, Chinese president Xi Jinping underlined Ukraine’s importance for China’s BRI in January 2022.

In a note he sent to the Ukrainian president, he underlined how important the “development of the China-Ukraine strategic partnership was to his country and the Silk Road, respectively.”

end quotes

And HUH?

The development of the China-Ukraine strategic partnership was important to China and the Silk Road?

What on earth is up with that, because I thought the strategic partnership was between Ukraine and Joe Biden, not China, who won’t censure Russia for invading Ukraine, and thus is now on Janet “TOODLES” Yellen’s S-list as another candidate for the same kind of crippling sanctions that she says, although it is not apparent, have crippled Russia’s economy?

And before going further with relevant history, this being a New York Times story titled “Biden Faces Conflict of Interest Questions That Are Being Promoted by Trump and Allies” by Kenneth P. Vogel and Iuliia Mendel on 2 May 2019, where we were told that it was a foreign policy role Joseph R. Biden Jr. enthusiastically embraced during his vice presidency: browbeating Ukraine’s notoriously corrupt government to clean up its act with regard to the political meddling in Ukraine’s internal affairs, by Hussein Obama, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Victoria Nuland, who is fed very well as one of the Biden team, Tony Blinken and Jake Sullivan, let me stop here for the moment before exploring this history further, and after a break for station identification, we’ll be right back with more of the saga of Joe Biden’s World starring our very own Joe Biden, so please, stay tuned to this same station for more yet to come.

THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR APRIL 25, 2022 AT 8:22 PM

Paul Plante says:

And before going back to the past, as we try to discern Joe Biden’s motives here with respect to Ukraine, let’s come to the present with a BBC story titled “Ukraine war: US wants to see a weakened Russia” by Matt Murphy on 25 April 2022 where we see confirmed my premise that Joe Biden is very willing to spend U.S. tax dollars to see Ukraine destroyed and the lives of its people shattered if that will serve to weaken Joe’s hated enemy, Putin of Russia, to wit:

At a news conference in Poland after the visit, Mr Austin told reporters the US wants to see “Russia weakened to the degree that it can’t do the kinds of things that it has done in invading Ukraine”.

BBC diplomatic correspondent James Landale observed that Mr Austin’s comments calling for a weakened Russia were unusually strong for a US defence secretary.

It is one thing to help Ukraine resist Russian aggression, it is quite another to speak of weakening Russia’s capabilities, he said.

Mr Putin’s accusations of the West attempting to “destroy Russia”, made during a speech on Monday, appeared to be in response to Mr Austin’s comments.

US defence officials said of the millions announced in fresh military funding, nearly $332m (£260m) would be allocated to Ukraine.

It brings the total US security assistance provided to Ukraine since the invasion began to more than $3.7bn (£2.9bn).

Mr Zelensky has been pleading with Western leaders to increase the flow of military equipment for weeks, vowing that his forces can overcome Russia’s military if provided with fighter jets and other vehicles.

Last week the US confirmed it had supplied Ukrainian troops with howitzer artillery cannons and anti-artillery radars for the first time.

Russia’s ambassador in Washington said Moscow had sent a diplomatic note demanding an end to the US supply of weapons to Ukraine.

Mr Blinken also defended America’s diplomatic approach, telling reporters that the Western alliance the Biden administration had assembled had put pressure on President Putin’s government.

“The strategy that we’ve put in place, massive support for Ukraine, massive pressure against Russia, solidarity with more than 30 countries engaged in these efforts, is having real results,” Mr Blinken said.

“And we’re seeing that when it comes to Russia’s war aims, Russia is failing, Ukraine is succeeding.”

“A sovereign, independent Ukraine will be around a lot longer than Vladimir Putin’s on the scene,” Mr Blinken added.

President Biden’s always made clear that the US won’t directly intervene in the war in Ukraine.

He won’t be sending American troops to join the battle.

But the truth is that the US is getting more deeply involved – and that’s been highlighted by the words of the US defence secretary.

America has dramatically increased the supply of weapons to Ukraine in recent weeks.

Despite Russian warnings, it’s made clear it’ll be sending more.

Mr Austin’s words underline that America is not a bystander in this war.

America wants to see Russia defeated.

More than that, it wants to see Russia’s military machine reduced to such an extent that it will not be able to threaten any another European ally in the future.

The fear, shared by Nato allies, is that any kind of defeat for Ukraine will only embolden President Putin’s ambitions.

Mr Austin has now set out clearly that the US has its own strategic goals for this war – even if it’s theoretically not participating.

The goal is to stop President Putin and to weaken Russia’s military to such an extent that it will no longer be able to threaten other nations.

To some extent that’s already happened.

Military experts already believe it will take years for Russia to recover from its military losses.

That might also send a signal to another nation which the US is increasingly concerned about – namely China.

For President Putin it’s more evidence that he’s not just in a war with Ukraine.

No doubt it will feed his own narrative for the purposes of domestic support.

He’s long portrayed Nato as a threat to Russia.

end quotes

So there we have it, people, right from the top!

Which brings us to the word “surreal” in the title of this series of essays, where “surreal” means in this case “resembling a dream: fantastic and incongruous,” where “incongruous” in this case means “inconsistent within itself,” such as the statement that Russia is somehow a threat to NATO, which is hog****, if we are to believe the previous news reports on the subject such as a CNN story titled “Obama all but names Putin as behind hacking, told him to ‘cut it out'” by Kevin Liptak on December 16, 2016, to wit:

The outgoing President’s year-end press conference was dominated by questions about Russia and its influence in last month’s vote.

After unleashing a string of putdowns about Russia, describing America’s Cold War adversary as “a weaker country” that “doesn’t produce anything anyone wants to buy except oil and gas and arms,” Obama conceded the country could exploit political divisions in the United States.

He attacked Republicans for siding with an arch-enemy of the United States because of their dislike of Democrats.

end quotes

A “weaker country” in the “arch enemy” of the United States?

That, people, is bizarre, and let us keep in mind that when Hussein was making that stupid statement about Russia being our “arch enemy,” his “team included Joe Biden, Tony Blinken, and Jake Sullivan while Joe Biden’s secretary of defense Lloyd Austin was Obama’s commander of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM).

Lloyd, if everyone will remember, was featured in a New York Times story titled “Military Officials Distorted ISIS Intelligence, Congressional Panel Says” by Helene Cooper on August 11, 2016, where we were informed about Lloyd telling fibs or outright lies to the American people back then, which is what recommended him to Joe as Joe’s secretary of defense, as follows:

WASHINGTON – Officials from the United States Central Command altered intelligence reports to portray a more optimistic picture of the war against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria than events on the ground warranted, a congressional panel said in a report issued Thursday.

The interim report, from a task force established by the Republican chairmen of the House Armed Services Committee, Intelligence Committee and Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, found “widespread dissatisfaction” among Central Command intelligence analysts, who said superiors were doctoring their assessments of American efforts to defeat the Islamic State.

“Intelligence products approved by senior Centcom leaders typically provided a more positive depiction of U.S. antiterrorism efforts than was warranted by facts on the ground and were consistently more positive than analysis produced by other elements of the intelligence community,” a news release about the report said.

“The leadership failures at Centcom reach to the very top of the organization.”

The 10-page report detailed persistent problems in 2014 and 2015 in Central Command’s description and analysis of American efforts to train Iraqi forces.

Although it offers no definitive evidence that senior Obama administration officials ordered the reports to be doctored, it describes analysts as feeling as though they were under pressure from Centcom leaders to present a more optimistic view of the threat posed by the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL.

“Throughout the first half of 2015, many Central Command press releases, statements and congressional testimonies were significantly more positive than actual events,” the report said.

“After months of investigation, this much is very clear,” Representative Mike Pompeo, Republican of Kansas, said in a statement.

“From the middle of 2014 to the middle of 2015, the United States Central Command’s most senior intelligence leaders manipulated the command’s intelligence products to downplay the threat from ISIS in Iraq.”

Last August, The New York Times reported the existence of the Pentagon inspector general investigation, opened after complaints by Centcom analysts.

But last year’s allegations called into question how much President Obama could rely on Central Command for honest assessments of military operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and other crisis spots.

Centcom’s commander then, Gen. Lloyd J. Austin III, came under criticism last year after Senate testimony viewed by many lawmakers as being an overly positive assessment of the war.

end quotes

So what really is going on here with respect to Ukraine?

Can we expect any truth about the situation from Joe Biden and Lloyd Austin?

And while you ponder that, we are going to pause here for station identification, so if you need to run to the fridge for munchies, now is the time to do it!

Paul Plante says:

What I am finding to be absolutely bizarre here, which is what makes this so surreal, as if a dream, because in real life, in a sane and rational world, this **** could not possibly be happening, and yet it is, because it is on YouTube, and thus, cannot be dismissed as a mere figment of my imagination, unless YouTube is a mass hallucination affecting us all as a form of mass psychoses, which Carl Gustav Jung would say is certainly possible, is that the man Zelensky of Ukraine called on before the whole world, on 3/16/22, to be the “Leader of the World,” as if Joe Biden actually had it in him to be the “Leader of the World,” and more to the point, as if the world would have Joe Biden as its leader, a lift too heavy for Joe and a bridge too far, was just seen on international television https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OARVosrEQpY before a huge crowd of amazed and baffled spectators being attacked by an enraged and highly agitated and violent obese rabbit, of all things, while Joe’s security detail stood there and watched the assault on Joe by the clearly out-of-control rabbit happen!

What an image, people!

That man in the video being pummeled and pushed around by an obese rabbit is the man perched on the brink of leading us into WWIII.

Think about that, people – if Joe Biden is so easily pushed around by an obese rabbit, how on earth can we depend on him to keep us safe from Putin?

And speaking of Joe Biden being the “Leader of the World,” here we have him lost in space in his own white house, where either nobody knows he is the “Leader of the World,” or nobody wants to know him, including Hussein Obama, the other half of the comedy duo “Me & Barack,” who told Joe, after Joe tapped him on the shoulder, to go sit down and Obama would be with him in a few minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGRxVITBGOA

But then, on the other hand, and this would go to show how connected Joe really is to the intelligence community, which is important, very important, in fact, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_59agcnLAj4 we had Joe Biden caught on film shaking hands with the notorious Dr. Peter Brady, the scientist who, while attempting to achieve invisibility with light refraction, had the experiment go wrong, which happens a lot with science, maybe more than people actually realize, and it turned him permanently invisible.

Now, here is where we can see how dialed in Joe really is, which causes me to wonder if the attack on him by the rabbit wasn’t staged so as to mislead Putin into thinking Joe would be an easy push-over, getting pushed around as he was by a seriously overweight rabbit, the scientist, and Joe, as we all know, is very big on following the science, Dr. Peter Brady, the scientist Joe is seen shaking hands with in the video, was actually for a time declared a state secret by the Brits, “BoJo’s” crowd across the pond who are Joe’s staunchest allies and really good friends, besides, and was locked up as a result, a clear human rights violation as I see it, but eventually, and here it is unclear whether it happened with intercession from Joe, the threat of massive sanctions on “BoJo” and his family and everyone around him, including his Budgie, the UK government allowed him to return to his laboratory and search for an antidote, so that almost immediately, British Intelligence recruited him for a top secret assignment which has him sitting in Putin’s office listening to everything Putin says, and reading his mail over his shoulder, and then reporting that information to Joe, for which we see Joe thanking him in the video, which is how Joe Biden knows what Putin is thinking, which goes to show just how canny Joe Biden can really be, which is why Zelensky is relying on Joe, because who else has he got, when there can only be just one “Leader of the World,” and if it is not “BoJo the Brit,” or Macron of France, and the German dude, by default it has to be Joe, because like Hussein Obama before him, Joe leads the strongest military that the world has ever known.

In the meantime, out here in the real world, the world we all live in, and this is surreal, as well, according to an article in the Jerusalem Post on 23 April 2022 titled “Russia using weapons supplied by France, Germany against Ukraine – report” by Eliav Breuer, and this is straight out of Catch-22, where Milo Minderbender rents our planes and bombs to the Germans when they don’t have enough planes so they can bomb our base, and thus keep the war going for Milo’s black market operation, which is where the big money is in wartime, we have as follows:

Russia has been using weapons manufactured and exported by France and Germany in its war against Ukraine, British newspaper The Telegraph reported a European Union analysis as saying.

While The Telegraph claims to have exclusively gained access to the EU analysis, independent investigative reports since the war began have arrived at the same conclusion.

Despite a 2014 EU decision on an arms embargo to Russia after it invaded Crimea, between 2015-2020 10 EU member states continued to supply it with 346 million euro’s worth of military equipment, 44% of which came from France and 35% from Germany, a March 17 report by the independent European news agency Investigate Europe found.

The other countries were Italy, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Finland, Spain and Croatia.

end quotes

Which takes us back to the BBC story titled “Ukraine war: US wants to see a weakened Russia” by Matt Murphy on 25 April 2022 and Tony Blinken, featured in a Huffington Post article titled “How to Lose to the Islamic State: Obama Administration Considers Deploying Troops to Iraq, Focusing on Assad in Syria” by Doug Bandow, a Senior Fellow with the Cato Institute, on 11/30/2014 3:59 pm, with then-Deputy National Security Adviser Tony Blinken essentially admitting failure with regard to Hussein Obama’s misguided and poorly handled policies in Syria where we had Tony as follows:

“The strategy that we’ve put in place, massive support for Ukraine, massive pressure against Russia, solidarity with more than 30 countries engaged in these efforts, is having real results,” Mr Blinken said.

end quotes

And it is members of those same countries who sold Putin the weapons he needed to stand up to Joe Biden’s belligerence and bellicosity and threatening behavior so that now, Joe has us in a war with Russia that Joe does not know how to win, never having had to win a war before, or participate in one, nor does he know when it might end, if ever, and so, has no idea of what this latest Democrat war of choice will cost us American taxpayers, and people, like it or not, that is the news!

And before we go further in here, I would like to digress for a moment to bring up the subject of how lucky we are to have the Cape Charles Mirror as a place to express views not consistent with the propaganda flow from the Biden regime by going to an essay by Glenn Edward Greenwald, an American journalist, author and lawyer, titled “Western Dissent from US/NATO Policy on Ukraine is Small, Yet the Censorship Campaign is Extreme – Preventing populations from asking who benefits from a protracted proxy war, and who pays the price, is paramount. A closed propaganda system achieves that,” on April 13, 2022, where we have as follows on that subject, to wit:

If one wishes to be exposed to news, information or perspective that contravenes the prevailing US/NATO view on the war in Ukraine, a rigorous search is required.

And there is no guarantee that search will succeed.

That is because the state/corporate censorship regime that has been imposed in the West with regard to this war is stunningly aggressive, rapid and comprehensive.

On a virtually daily basis, any off-key news agency, independent platform or individual citizen is liable to be banished from the internet.

In early March, barely a week after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the twenty-seven nation European Union — citing “disinformation” and “public order and security” — officially banned the Russian state-news outlets RT and Sputnik from being heard anywhere in Europe.

In what Reuters called “an unprecedented move,” all television and online platforms were barred by force of law from airing content from those two outlets.

end quotes

Now, those of us in here who are older and lived through the LBJ VEET NAM years are well aware of how that game is played, with regard to censorship and propaganda, but the big difference between those times and today is the internet, which did not exist back then, so that we common folks in America were deprived of any kind of voice with which to expose that propaganda, and the result is now a matter of history on a black wall in Washington, D.C. with the names of all those who died for LBJ’s lies.

And here we are, back at it again, with another Democrat who believes he is actually the Leader of the World because a former comedian turned politician in Ukraine told him he was in a televised address to the whole wide world, and to keep the myth alive, the truth has to be buried, which takes us back to Glenn Greenwald, to wit:

Even prior to that censorship order from the state, Facebook and Google were already banning those outlets, and Twitter immediately announced they would as well, in compliance with the new EU law.

But what was “unprecedented” just six weeks ago has now become commonplace, even normalized.

Any platform devoted to offering inconvenient-to-NATO news or alternative perspectives is guaranteed a very short lifespan.

end quotes

Could he be talking about the Cape Charles Mirror there, people?

Give that some serious thought, if you will.

Getting back to the essay:

Less than two weeks after the EU’s decree, Google announced that it was voluntarily banning all Russian-affiliated media worldwide, meaning Americans and all other non-Europeans were now blocked from viewing those channels on YouTube if they wished to.

As so often happens with Big Tech censorship, much of the pressure on Google to more aggressively censor content about the war in Ukraine came from its own workforce: “Workers across Google had been urging YouTube to take additional punitive measures against Russian channels.”

So prolific and fast-moving is this censorship regime that it is virtually impossible to count how many platforms, agencies and individuals have been banished for the crime of expressing views deemed “pro-Russian.”

end quotes

Which raises the serious question that came up during the VEET NAM war which is this: IF, like myself, a person is critical of the policies of Joe Biden in this matter, and if one sees how stupid the team Joe Biden has assembled, Blinken, Sullivan, Lloyd Austin, who starred in a Guardian article titled “US has trained only ‘four or five’ Syrian fighters against Isis, top general testifies – Senators appear incredulous and call for a new plan after hearing news that US military’s $500m effort has resulted in training of only a handful of fighters” by Spencer Ackerman in New York on 16 September 2015, really is, is one really being “Pro-Russian?”

Does criticism of Joe Biden and dissent from his ill-thought-out policies make one “Pro-Russian?”

By publishing dissent, is the Cape Charles Mirror going to be branded as being “Pro-Russian,” which would be an excuse to ban it from the internet for the good of America and its national security, which right now seems to hang by the merest thread so that we are now counting on a comedian in Ukraine to keep us safe from Putin in Russia?

Going back to Glen Greenwald, he continues as follows:

What makes this outburst of Western censorship so notable — and what is at least partially driving it — is that there is a clear, demonstrable hunger in the West for news and information that is banished by Western news sources, ones which loyally and unquestioningly mimic claims from the U.S. government, NATO, and Ukrainian officials.

Note that this censorship regime is completely one-sided and, as usual, entirely aligned with U.S. foreign policy.

Western news outlets and social media platforms have been flooded with pro-Ukrainian propaganda and outright lies from the start of the war.

A New York Times article from early March put it very delicately in its headline: “Fact and Mythmaking Blend in Ukraine’s Information War.”

Axios was similarly understated in recognizing this fact: “Ukraine misinformation is spreading — and not just from Russia.”

Members of the U.S. Congress have gleefully spread fabrications that went viral to millions of people, with no action from censorship-happy Silicon Valley corporations.

That is not a surprise: all participants in war use disinformation and propaganda to manipulate public opinion in their favor, and that certainly includes all direct and proxy-war belligerents in the war in Ukraine.

Yet there is little to no censorship — either by Western states or by Silicon Valley monopolies — of pro-Ukrainian disinformation, propaganda and lies.

The censorship goes only in one direction: to silence any voices deemed “pro-Russian,” regardless of whether they spread disinformation.

end quotes

And let me stop here for the moment to let that all sink in, because it is, I believe, a very serious subject, this “thought control” that is being imposed on us in this country since the Biden regime seized power on 6 January 2021.

THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR APRIL 27, 2022 AT 10:03 PM

Paul Plante says:

And while we are on the subject of reality in here, versus surreality, has anyone noticed that we are starting to hemorrhage money in Ukraine the way we started to hemorrhage money in VEET NAM to support and prop up the failing regime of Ngo Dinh Diem, who we ended up having assassinated in a coup to get rid of him and his brother?

Just yesterday, we had a CNBC story titled “Treasury yields fall as economic slowdown fears mount” by Vicky McKeever and Hannah Miao on April 26 2022, which informed us as follows:

At a high-level meeting in Kyiv on Sunday, the U.S. pledged just over $700 million in military financing to help Ukraine and other allied countries in central and eastern Europe involved in the war effort.

end quotes

So in addition to being responsible for fifty states over here, now Joe Biden is making the U.S. taxpayers responsible for the support of countries in Europe who are affected by Joe Biden’s war of choice against Putin.

In his “Remarks By President Biden Providing an Update on Russia and Ukraine” on April 21, 2022, we had “Leader of the World” Joe Biden informing us as follows about how much this war is going to end up costing us:

Last week, I signed an $800 million package of security assistance to Ukraine that included new capabilities like artillery systems and armored personnel carriers — equipment that is responsive to Ukraine’s needs and tailored to support the intensified fighting in the Donbas region, which is a different war than in other places because both — topographically it’s different.

Today, I’m announcing another $800 million to further augment Ukraine’s ability to fight in the east — in the Donbas region.

However, with this latest disbursement, I’ve almost exhausted the drawdown authority I have that Congress authorized for Ukraine in a bipartisan spending bill last month.

In order to sustain Ukraine for the duration of this fight, next week I’m going to — have to be sending to Congress a supplemental budget request to keep weapons and ammunition flowing without interruption to the brave Ukrainian fighters and to continue to deliver economic assistance to the Ukrainian people.

Hope — and my hope is and my expectation is Congress would move and act quickly.

Today, the United States is announcing that we intend to provide an additional $500 million in direct economic assistance to the Ukrainian government.

This brings our total economic support for Ukraine to $1 billion in the past two months.

Q Mr. President, how long can the U.S. maintain the level and pace of this military support for Ukraine?

THE PRESIDENT: I — well, we have the capacity to do this for a long time.

end quotes

And then today, in the Rigzone story “Crude Trading was Choppy Wednesday on Mixed Signals” by Bloomberg | Julia Fanzeres on April 27, 2022, we had as follows concerning Joe Biden sending our fuel to Europe to supply them, which is robbing us of our fuel supplies, not to mention creating more global greenhouse gases by having to send our supplies to Europe by ship, which wastes even more fuel, to wit:

However, refined products markets continued to show signs of extraordinary tightness as the disappearance of Russian oil forced Europe and Latin America to depend more on U.S. imports for fuel.

Gasoline stocks in New England fell to their lowest since 1991, while diesel inventories sunk to the lowest since 1996.

Nymex diesel futures closed at $4.6743 a gallon on Wednesday, a record in exchange data going back to 1986.

East coast distillate inventories were at the lowest since 1996 and U.S. diesel futures settled at a fresh record Tuesday, while profits from making the fuel in Europe are the highest since at least 2011.

Russia is Europe’s largest external supplier of the middle distillate.

end quotes

So the game is on now, people, and there is no going back to a calm and peaceful yesterday.

Yes, it could have been different, but you know what?

It wasn’t, so here we now are, and if it is not pretty now, just wait, because it is going to be getting worse, not better, as Joe Biden tries to destroy Russia and Putin to show the world just how tough Joe Biden really is!

THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR APRIL 28, 2022 AT 6:39 PM

Paul Plante says:

And events are now moving rapidly here, people, as the Pale Rider of the Apocalypse on his pale horse, that being, of course, Joe Biden, who is as white as white milk or white bread, as if something drains his blood every night, a creepy thought indeed, and the three moronic idiots who trail in his wake, known as the “Three Amigos,” those moronic idiots being Tony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, and Lloyd Austin, a caricature if there ever was one, rush us headlong into WWIII as a co-belligerent of Ukraine, as we see in a Reuters story about the quagmire the Pale Rider and the “Three Amigos” are stumbling us into out of towering arrogance coupled with incredible ignorance titled “Ukraine accuses Russia of blackmail with plan to halt gas to Poland” by Marek Strzelecki, Phil Stewart and Pavel Polityuk on April 26, 2022, as follows:

April 26 (Reuters) – Kyiv accused Russia of blackmailing Europe by cutting off gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria as the crisis in Ukraine deepened, with tensions surging in nearby Moldova and Moscow warning the West to back off.

end quote

Like a rattlesnake buzzing its tail, and the Pale Rider and Three Amigos, in their towering arrogance, are too stupid to hear it, which brings us for a moment to a Times of India article titled “Has Nato lost the war against Russia before it began?” by Padma Rao Sundarji on Feb. 28, 2022, where we had some discussion about whether or not Putin would actually use nuclear weapons in this Biden conflict to defend Russia, which happens to be, whether the Pale Rider likes it or not, a sovereign country with every right to defend its borders, just as we did in the Cuban missile crisis, and China did when MacArthur sent troops north to the Yalu, to wit:

Troops and sophisticated war machinery of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (Nato) have been standing by along Ukraine’s western borders since – months.

Why is Nato not helping Ukraine fight Russia?

In an exclusive conversation with Padma Rao Sundarji for Times Online, defence analysts Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain and Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan, who have decades of experience dealing with cross-border insurgencies and full-fledged wars, provide the answers.

Chauhan: I was the strike corps commander of India.

I carried out a very big exercise with the Russian army and have seen that they are willing to use their nuclear weapons at the first instance.

Because they say if we don’t use it now, we don’t survive.

So, the Russians not only have them, they have also planned them, they exercise with them and – they are willing to use nuclear weapons.

The kind of armaments the Russian army has, and the Russian ability to use these weapons of mass destruction, simply prevents Nato from putting any kind of boots on the ground.

If Nato comes in, it’s World War III.

Then, it’s the globe that’s at war, definitely not Ukraine and Russia.

end quotes

And with that bit of reality hanging around at there as Joe Biden continues to push Putin further into a corner (before a rattlesnake strikes, the head does appear to be retreating or moving backwards), let’s go back to Reuters for the play action, as follows:

Andriy Yermak, the chief of staff to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, said Russia was “beginning the gas blackmail of Europe”.

“Russia is trying to shatter the unity of our allies.”

“Russia is also proving that energy resources are a weapon.”

“That is why the EU needs to be united and impose an embargo on energy resources, depriving the Russians of their energy weapons.”

Moscow calls its actions a “special operation” to disarm Ukraine and protect it from fascists.

Ukraine and the West call this a false pretext for an unprovoked war to seize territory in a move that has sparked fears of wider conflict in Europe unseen since World War Two.

end quotes

But with history as our guide, is it really a false pretext that Moscow calls its actions a “special operation” to disarm Ukraine and protect it from fascists?

Might it have something to do with the history the Russians are aware of, being on a different continent and all that, which has an entirely different history than we do here in what used to be the United States of America before the 6 January 2021 Democrat coup that killed our Constitution, to wit:

Nazi Germany with its allies invaded the Soviet Union in 1941.

Some Ukrainians initially regarded the Wehrmacht soldiers as liberators from Soviet rule, while others formed a partisan movement.”

Others collaborated with the Germans.

In Volhynia, Ukrainian fighters committed a massacre against up to 100,000 Polish civilians.

end quotes

Might that history color Putin’s perceptions differently than ours?

Getting back to Reuters and the quagmire the Pale Rider Biden and his blundering “Three Amigos” are leading us into, we have more of the mess of things the senile Joe Biden is making with his stupid attempt to force Putin, the democratically-elected president of Russia out of office, like he and Hussein tried to force Basher Assad out of office back when, after they did manage to kill Gaddafi, as follows:

Russia’s ambassador to the United States has warned Washington to stop sending arms to Ukraine, saying that large Western deliveries of weapons were inflaming the situation and would lead to more losses.

Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov warned late on Monday that: “NATO, in essence, is engaged in a war with Russia through a proxy and is arming that proxy.”

“War means war,” saying the risks of nuclear conflict should not be underestimated.

end quotes

BZZZZZZZZZ goes the rattlesnake’s tail, which brings us back to Reuters and U.S. Pentagon spokesman Rear Admiral of the Navy’s rubber rowboat fleet in New York Central Park Lake John Kirby who said there was no reason for the conflict in Ukraine to escalate to nuclear war, which is a clear indication that not only does the rear admiral not know a ******* thing about Russia, nor does he read the Times of India:

“A nuclear war cannot be won and it shouldn’t be fought,” he said.

end quote

Oh, really, admiral!

And shouldn’t commander-in-chief and “Leader of the World” Joe Biden have thought some more about that before he provoked a nuclear power into using them to defend itself?

Shouldn’t he have, John?

And there is where we are at the moment, people.

Stay tuned for more WWIII coverage right after station break and a solid, undisturbed ten full minutes of the best commercials you will ever see!

THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR APRIL 29, 2022 AT 6:35 PM

Paul Plante says:

And it’s “in for a penny, in for a pound,” now, people, or in this case, $33 BILLION to fund Joe Biden’s War of Choice against Putin of Russia, who Joe hates with a passion, for the next five months, at which time more will be required so this $33 BILLION isn’t wasted, this as the Pale Rider of the Apocalypse riding his pale horse with the “Three Amigos” trailing in his wake dealing death and destruction lead us headlong into WWIII for the good of the U.S. GDP, of course, which is what America is all about, the GDP, because if not that, we have nothing, and people, right now, as we shall soon see, the GDP is suffering, which indeed is a national shame and smear on the good name of “Leader of the World” Joe Biden, because it makes people think Joe can’t really be a leader of the world because he is incompetent, as we were just told in a CNBC story titled “U.S. GDP fell at a 1.4% pace to start the year as pandemic recovery takes a hit,” something that should concern us all as loyal American citizens all rooting for the home team as the best in the world as measured by GDP, which is why our democracy is sacred, and everybody else’s is merely mundane, and being true to “our school,” as the Beach Boys told us to be back when American values were far different than they are today, where there seem to be no values, especially where politicians like Nancy Pelosi and Charley “Chuck” Schumer are concerned, this tale of the GDP suffering being told by Jeff Cox on April 28, 2022, as follows:

An 8.5% pullback in defense spending was a particular drag, knocking one-third of a percentage point off the final GDP reading.

end quotes

So there you plainly see it, people, our GDP is suffering, which is to our national shame, which in turn is why we learned yesterday, this according to the Brits over on “BoJo’s” side of the pond, in the Guardian article “Biden asks Congress for $33bn Ukraine aid package – President’s request includes over $20bn in military aid, $8.5bn in economic aid to Kyiv and $3bn in humanitarian relief” by Julian Borger in Washington and Jon Henley in Paris on 28 Apr 2022, as follows as Joe goes BIG with respect to his war against Putin, to wit:

Joe Biden has called for a giant $33bn package of military and economic aid to Ukraine, more than doubling the level of US assistance to date, in an emphatic rejection of Russian threats of reprisals and escalation.

Biden asked Congress to give immediate approval for spending that would include over $20bn in military aid, involving everything from heavy artillery and armoured vehicles to greater intelligence sharing, cyber warfare tools and many more anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles.

end quotes

And you know what “immediate approval” means?

It means don’t think about, don’t question it, just do it, because otherwise, the ship is going down, our sacred democracy will be dead, and Putin and Russia are going to take over the whole world, and the only thing right now stemming the flood and holding them back while defending the free world is Zelensky in Ukraine, who desperately needs our guns and money, or the game will soon be over and we will all be Russian slaves, which takes us back to the story for more as follows:

Biden also requested $8.5bn in economic aid to Kyiv and $3bn in humanitarian relief, as well as funds to help increase US production of food crops and strategic minerals to offset the impact of the war in Ukraine on global supplies.

The total of $33bn is more than twice the last supplemental request approved by Congress in March and dwarfs the entire defence budget of Ukraine and of many other countries.

The US president said it was aimed at helping Ukraine repel the renewed Russian offensives in the east and south of the country, but also to transition to assuring the nation’s longer-term security needs.

It comes in the face of Russian warnings that increased western weapons supplies to Ukraine would endanger European security, that western intervention could bring instant Russian reprisals and raise the risk of nuclear conflict.

Making the case for western aid, Biden argued that on the contrary, if Putin was not stopped in Ukraine he would continue to threaten global peace and stability.

The president framed the request principally in terms of defending Ukraine, and did not explicitly repeat the declaration earlier this week by his defence secretary, Lloyd Austin, that one of US aims in Ukraine was to weaken Russia to stop it attacking other countries.

“Despite the disturbing rhetoric coming out of the Kremlin, the facts are plain for everybody to see.”

“We’re not attacking Russia.”

“We’re helping Ukraine defend itself against Russian aggression,” Biden said.

But he added the cost involved was “a small price to pay to punish Russia and aggression, to lessen the risk of future conflicts”.

“Throughout our history, we’ve learned that when dictators do not pay the price for their aggression, they cause more chaos and engage in more aggression,” he said.

“The threats to America and the world keep rising.”

“We can’t let this happen.”

end quotes

And there we have it, people, if we do not defeat Russia over there, then before we know it, we are going to have Russia over here, which means we will all have to learn to speak a new language, and what a bummer that is going to be, so by all means, to keep us from having to learn Russian, it is imperative to give Joe Biden that $33 BILLION right now, today, and five months from now, make it bigger, because making it bigger will get us that much further towards the light at the end of the tunnel, and people, that is the news, live, as it is happening, and who on earth could ask for more than that!

As to the Pale Rider (Joe Biden) and the “Three Amigos” (Blinken, Sullivan and Lloyd Austin) blundering their way into WWIII and dragging us into that quagmire with them, let’s go back to the Guardian once again, as follows:

The Kremlin’s official spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, warned on Thursday that an increased western supply of heavy weapons to Kyiv would endanger European security.

“The tendency to pump weapons, including heavy weapons, into Ukraine, these are the actions that threaten the security of the continent, provoke instability,” Peskov said.

The day before, Vladimir Putin had threatened a “lightning fast” response to western intervention in Ukraine, adding: “We have all the weapons we need for this.”

His foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, has accused the US and its allies of fighting a proxy war in Ukraine and warned of the rising danger of a nuclear conflict.

Biden rejected the accusation he was fighting a proxy war, describing the claim as part of the Kremlin’s domestic propaganda to explain the inability of Russian forces to achieve their goals.

“I think it’s more of a reflection, not of the truth, but of their failure,” the president said.

He added: “No one should be making idle comments about the use of nuclear weapons.”

end quotes

Uh, Joe, I don’t think they are making idle threats, but I do think you are too ******* stupid to realize that, which puts us as a people in a real tenuous situation, with a madman at the helm provoking a nuclear war with a country that has them and a willingness to protect itself by using them, and there we have it, people, for the moment, anyway, but stay tuned, because this Biden-esque fiasco has wheels and has some distance yet to go.

THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR APRIL 30, 2022 AT 6:04 PM

Paul Plante says:

And while we are on the subject of Pro-Biden propaganda from the main stream media along with vilification and the questioning of our patriotism and loyalty to Joe Biden if we are not deemed sufficiently “Pro-Ukraine” and “Pro-Zelensky,” who alone right now in the whole world is actually fighting the good fight to protect the Free World and our sacred democracy from the COMMUNIST MENACE of Putin and the Russians, who would be over here right now if Zelensky wasn’t softening them up for us over there, for a good example of what we can expect in the future with respect to propaganda on Joe Biden’s war of choice against his hated enemy Putin, which is the same thing we got back in the VEET NAM times with the “light at the end of the tunnel,” and again when Joe Biden and Hussein Obama were in power the last time around for them, and Joe’s man Lloyd Austin, who now is Joe’s secretary of defense, was in charge of CENTCOM, by going back to the Guardian story “US has trained only ‘four or five’ Syrian fighters against Isis, top general testifies – Senators appear incredulous and call for a new plan after hearing news that US military’s $500m effort has resulted in training of only a handful of fighters” by Spencer Ackerman in New York on 16 September 2015, where we were treated to an expose on the art of the whitewash by the Biden/Obama administration, to wit:

Both Wormuth and Austin defended US strategy against Isis in the face of bipartisan skepticism from the senators.

Senator Claire McCaskill, a Democrat from Missouri, mocked the Syrian training program, expressing incredulity that the Defense Department would seek another $600m to fund fighters she said the US was counting “on our fingers and toes.”

“It’s time for a new plan,” McCaskill said.

McCain called the administration’s strategy against Isis “a debacle.”

Austin conceded that there was “slow movement at the tactical level” but defended the strategy he has overseen for a year.

“There haven’t been any dramatic gains on either side,” Austin said, although earlier this year Isis seized the Iraqi city of Ramadi and the Syrian city of Palmyra.

Austin is in the throes of a multi-pronged crisis within his command.

Not only did Isis’s capture of Ramadi tear up his battle plan, which prioritized recapturing Mosul for the Iraqi government, his own intelligence analysts are furious at what they see as politicized pressure to portray the war as a success.

The charge, from analysts at Central Command and those attached to it from the Defense Intelligence Agency, has sparked an inquiry from the Pentagon inspector general.

Central to it is the command’s intelligence chief, Major General Steven Grove, whom analysts say oversees the suppression of assessments showing the war on a perilous trajectory.

Former intelligence officials have told the Guardian the command climate inside Central Command is “toxic.”

They have expressed bewilderment that Austin has not addressed it forcefully.

Austin said “it would be premature and inappropriate” to discuss the investigation, but reiterated “you can be assured I will take the appropriate action.”

He said he greatly valued his 1,200 “seasoned intelligence professionals,” and pledged publicly to “do everything within our power” to protect analysts he called “whistleblowers.”

end quotes

Yeah, right, Lloyd!

You were going to protect the whistleblowers?

Uh, okay, Lloyd!

So what kind of assessments can we expect today?

The truth?

Or more bull**** like was the practice back in the days of “Me & Barack?”

THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR MAY 1, 2022 AT 5:54 PM

Paul Plante says:

And talk about something that makes a person in possession of his or her wits want to vomit, let’s go to the NBC News story titled “Pelosi leads Congressional delegation to meet with Zelenskyy in Kyiv” by Jason Abbruzzese and Max Burman on 1 May 2022, where we had the following political spectacle being described as follows:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has led a Congressional delegation to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv.

Pelosi is now the highest-ranking U.S. politician to visit Ukraine during the war, a trip that comes as Russia’s refocused military campaign in the country’s east struggles to make significant gains.

“We believe that we are visiting you to say thank you for your fight for freedom,” Pelosi said during a meeting with Ukrainian officials, according to a video posted to Zelenskyy’s official Telegram account early Sunday.

“Your fight is a fight for everyone, and so our commitment is to be there for you until the fight is done.”

Those with Pelosi on the trip, which was not previously announced, included Reps. Jason Crow, D-Colo., Jim McGovern, D-Mass., and Adam Schiff, D-Calif.

end quotes

Until the fight is done?

Uh, okay, Nancy.

And do you have a clue as to when exactly that might be?

This year, perhaps?

Or next?

Or maybe twenty years?

Or thirty?

And what’s up with this dose of horse****, Nancy: “We believe that we are visiting you to say thank you for your fight for freedom.”

IF they are fighting for freedom, Nancy, which is bull****, then how come it is that we read in the Kyiv Independent on March 20, 2022 a story titled “Ukraine temporarily bans activities of 11 pro-Russian parties” by The Kyiv Independent news desk, where we learn of the following, which is reminiscent of Hitler outlawing opposition parties with the Reichstag Fire Decree, to wit:

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced in the early hours of March 20 that the National Security and Defense Council suspended all activities of a number of pro-Russian political parties while martial law is in place.

The ban includes 11 parties, including Opposition Platform – For Life.

end quotes

That, people, is incipient fascism, and no wonder Nancy Pelosi is for it, creating a dictatorial one-party state, because that is exactly what she wants to do here, as well which is what her WITCH HUNTERS, including the smarmy pencil-necked Democrat congressman from Hollywood, Ca. and Disneyland Adam Schiff, and Virginia’s Elaine Luria, are working diligently to make happen – the outlawing of the Republican party, to protect our sacred democracy, the way the dictator Zelensky is protecting sacred democracy in Ukraine, with billions of our tax dollars to support his fascist state, where if you are not ethnic Ukrainian, you are going to find yourself without a political voice, which is, of course, discrimination and stripping of human rights, but that’s what they get for not being Ukrainian in Ukraine, but something else, instead.

Getting back to the story of Nancy, because this is about Nancy, and a chance for her to once again to be in the spotlight as an important person in world affairs, it goes on as follows:

The surprise visit adds to growing momentum for the West’s support for Ukraine as Russia’s invasion struggles and both sides appear to be settling in for a prolonged conflict.

end quotes

Read that as Nancy Pelosi’s support for WWIII, and she, like Joe Biden, is too ******* arrogant and stupid to realize it, which takes us back to the story of Nancy once again, to wit:

The U.S. and many countries in Europe have pledged to send a variety of defensive weapons to help Ukraine hold off Russian advances.

Russia has not taken those developments lightly.

Escalating rhetoric from the Kremlin and state media, combined with a move to cut off gas supply to Poland and Bulgaria, have pushed analysts to worry that Ukraine is now just one part of a multi-front struggle between Russia and the West.

end quotes

And those “analysts” sound pretty ******* dumb, as well, if they are still wondering that, after the bellicose, jingoistic, belligerent bellowing from the Dunkoff (a stupid person; dumbbell; blockhead) Joe Biden about him removing Putin from office and likely sending him off the planet, and Lloyd Austin running his mouth about having the Ukrainians wage proxy war against Russia to soften them up so that Joe can finally do what Napolean and Hitler were unable to do, which is to finally and decisively beat Russia and run it into the ground as a lesson to any other dictators out there who dare to defy Joe Biden, which once more takes us back to NBC News and the story of Nancy, to wit:

Pelosi said in a statement posted to the speaker’s website that the trip was meant “to send an unmistakable and resounding message to the entire world: America stands firmly with Ukraine.”

President Joe Biden asked Congress on Thursday for a new $33 billion Ukraine aid package.

“[Zelenskyy] conveyed the clear need for continued security, economic and humanitarian assistance from the United States to address the devastating human toll taken on the Ukrainian people by Putin’s diabolic invasion,” Pelosi said, “and our delegation proudly delivered the message that additional American support is on the way, as we work to transform President Biden’s strong funding request into a legislative package.”

And for the other side of that story about the Nancy House and her pack of Democrats work to transform President Biden’s strong funding request into a legislative package, let’s finish with a Reuters story titled “Pelosi hopes to approve $33 bln Ukraine aid ‘as soon as possible'” by Patricia Zengerle on April 29, 2022, where we have as follows, to wit:

WASHINGTON, April 29 (Reuters) – U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Friday she hopes to pass a $33 billion aid package for Ukraine requested by President Joe Biden “as soon as possible.”

Biden asked Congress on Thursday for the money to support the government in Kyiv – a dramatic escalation of U.S. funding for Ukraine more than two months after it was invaded by Russia.

Lawmakers from both parties said they wanted to approve the emergency funding request quickly, but there was no immediate word on exactly when the House and Senate might vote amid disputes over what should be in any legislation.

“We hope to as soon as possible pass that legislation,” Pelosi told her weekly news conference.

Democrats, who narrowly control Congress, and Republicans disagree over whether to combine the Ukraine funding with billions of dollars for COVID-19 relief that Biden requested in March.

Some Republicans have said they want the two issues to be separate, but some Democrats have seen support for Ukraine aid as a chance to pass COVID relief.

Pelosi said lawmakers would have to “come to terms” with how to address both issues.

“We have emergencies here.”

“We need to have the COVID money and time is of the essence because we need the Ukraine money, we need the COVID money, so I would hope that we can do that,” Pelosi said.

I wonder if Zelensky over there in Ukraine is aware of that the fact that a promise of something from Joe Biden is not at all the same thing as “something,” in this case, bullets and guns, and in Washington, especially among the Democrats, the word “immediate” means “maybe some time in the future, but do not hold your breath!”

And that, people, is the news, live and late-breaking as it happens, when it happens, and since a lot more is promised to happen here, stay tuned and don’t change that dial!
