THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR JUNE 5, 2021 AT 6:29 PM

Paul Plante says:

And as we continue to examine the relationship between the Biden administration and the federal reserve, which functions as a “tax farmer” for the Biden administration, let us once more go back to the New York Times story entitled “Defying Critics, Biden and the Fed Insist the Economic Recovery Is on Track – Confidence from the White House runs counter to warnings from Republicans, some investors and even a few liberal economists” by Jim Tankersley and Jeanna Smialek on May 22, 2021, where we have, to wit:

Critics, including some liberal economists, look at the confidence coming from the White House and the Fed and see a risk: that policymakers will be too slow to change course in the face of a fast-changing backdrop.

end quotes

In light of history, people, pay some very special heed to that concern, which takes us back to the article, to wit:

If companies continue to struggle to find workers and prices shoot even higher, they warn, the economy could overheat, hurting businesses and consumers and maybe even leading to another recession.

end quotes

And how many recessions have we had now since the Dot-Com Bubble burst?

If we go to the website The Balance. and the article “History of Recessions in the United States - Causes, Length, GDP, and Unemployment Rates,” by Kimberly Amadeo reviewed by Somer G. Anderson updated May 12, 2021, we find as follows:

21st Century Recessions

In its first decade, the 21st century experienced three recessions.

Each was worse than the one before, but for different reasons.

2020 Recession

The 2020 recession was the worst since the Great Depression.

The U.S. economy contracted a record 31.4% in the second quarter, after falling 5% in the previous quarter.

The Covid-19 pandemic forced businesses to close and families to shelter-in-place.

In April 2020, the U.S. economy lost an astonishing 20.8 million jobs, sending the unemployment rate skyrocketing to 14.7%.

It remained in the double-digits until August.

Uncertainty over the pandemic’s impact also caused the 2020 stock market crash.

The Federal Reserve lowered the fed funds rate to 0%, promising to keep it there until 2023.

Congress issued $3.8 trillion in aid.

Although the economy grew 33.1% in the third quarter, it was not enough to make up for earlier losses.

2008–09

The Great Recession lasted from December 2007 to June 2009, the longest contraction since the Great Depression.

The subprime mortgage crisis triggered a global bank credit crisis in 2007.

By 2008, the damage had spread to the general economy through the widespread use of derivatives.

GDP in 2008 shrank in three quarters, including an 8.4% drop in Q4.

The unemployment rate rose to 10% in October 2009, lagging behind the recession that caused it.

The recession ended in Q3 2009, when GDP turned positive, thanks to an economic stimulus package.

The recession ended in Q3 2009, when GDP turned positive, thanks to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

2001

The 2001 recession lasted eight months, from March to November.

It was caused by a boom and subsequent bust in dot-com businesses.

The Y2K scare partially created the boom in 2000.

Companies bought billions of dollars worth of new software because they were afraid the old systems weren’t designed to transition from the 1900s to the 2000s.

Many dot-com businesses were significantly overvalued and failed.

The 9/11 attack worsened the recession.

The economy contracted in two quarters: Q1 by -1.1% and Q3 by -1.7%.

Unemployment continued rising until it peaked at 6.3% in June 2003.

20th Century Recessions

There were 12 recessions in the 20th century.

end quotes

So much for the federal reserve, which takes us to this, to wit:

Federal Reserve Makes $88.9 Billion in Profit

JAN 11, 2013

Yesterday, the Federal Reserve announced in a preliminary estimate that it had made a profit in 2012 and transferred $88.9 billion to the Treasury.

This is a new high for the Fed, up from the previous high of $79 billion in 2010, and $77 billion last year.

The Fed took in $91.0 billion, the overwhelming majority ($80.5 billion) of which was attained through its open-market operations.

The Fed was selling short-term T-bill and buying longer-term bonds as part of what has been called “Operation Twist,” and recently has been buying more mortgage-backed securities as part of QE3.

Expenses of the Federal Reserve System totaled $4.9 billion, with an additional $387 million to fund the operations of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection and Office of Financial Research that were created by the Dodd-Frank Act.

Revenue from the Federal Reserve has been one of the more significant revenue streams flowing to the federal government in the past few years.

It has raised about as much money as all excise taxes and ranks only behind individual income, corporate income, and payoll taxes.

It’s worth noting, though, that while Federal Reserve remittances have dramatically increased over the last few years, that is unlikely to continue when the economy recovers and interest rates begin to rise.

The Fed will likely increase their holdings of short-term T-bills, but they will significantly shrink their balance sheet overall to unwind from their current accommodative monetary position.

end quotes

Which is all BULL****, people, because just in the last year, the federal reserve balance sheet has ballooned, as we see by going to the Open Market website on 16 Nov. 2020, to wit:

The Fed’s Balance Sheet Will Continue to Grow in 2021

By Blu Putnam

The Federal Reserve (Fed) has shifted its approach to the pandemic of 2020 in some important ways during the year.

Initially, from late February through early June, the Fed purchased a wide variety of assets and provided loans to several parts of the financial system, expanding its balance sheet from about $4 trillion to $7 trillion.

Going forward, the commitment to continue purchasing coupon-paying Treasuries and mortgage-backed securities at a rate of about $25-$30 billion per week, means that the balance sheet will start to grow again.

end quotes

As of May 26, 2021, the Fed’s assets stood at $7.9 trillion, so the profits feeding back to the Biden administration will rise considerably, this as THE CULT OF JOE tell us that there will be no tax increases on the middle class and the lower classes, when in fact, inflation is indeed a tax on the middle class and the lower classes imposed by the federal reserve to profit the Biden administration.

Paul Plante says:

And as we continue to consider how stupid and out of touch with reality we would have to be as American citizens to buy into this BULL**** Joe Biden is peddling as prime beef when he says “democracy is more than a form of government — it is a way of being,” which for him and his CULT of followers, it actually is, like a religion, and “Democracy must be defended at all costs,” and “Democracy, that’s the soul of America,” which sounds like Joe is channeling James Brown there, to see Joe’s “democracy, that’s the soul of America” in action, keeping in mind that “democracy” is synonymous with “discrimination,” let us go to a Reuters article entitled “Liberal Democrats restless over Biden’s infrastructure talks with Republicans” by Richard Cowan and Makini Brice on June 4, 2021, where we are in formed as follows:

Progressive Democrats in the U.S. Congress are getting uneasy with President Joe Biden’s push for a bipartisan infrastructure deal, warning they could block an agreement that falls short of what they think the country needs.

end quotes

Which thought takes us to a Newsweek article entitled “A Middle Class Rebellion Against Progressives Is Gaining Steam” by Joel Kotkin on 4 June 2021, where we have in response to that, as follows:

The echoes of another potentially larger pushback can already be heard in progressive America.

And this new middle-class rebellion is being bolstered by a wide-ranging intellectual rebellion by traditional liberals against the Left’s dogmatism and intolerance.

Indeed, what we’re about to see has the potential to reprise the great shift among old liberals that had them embracing Reagan in reaction to the Left’s excesses of that generation.

In a way, this should not be surprising.

After all, the progressive base is limited: According to a survey conducted by the non-partisan group More in Common, progressives constitute barely eight percent of the electorate.

end quotes

So in the “democracy” of Joe Biden which is the “soul” of the sick and twisted version of America he is trying to sell us, just eight percent of the people get to chart the course for the 92 percent, which proves that “democracy” works for them, anyway, like if did for Saddam Hussain and the Baathists in Iraq back when, which in turn takes us back to the Reuters article, to wit:

Biden has spent weeks in negotiations with Senate Republicans aiming at a sweeping package that would address the nation’s roads and bridges, as well as boost spending on schools and health care.

He has whittled his plan down to $1.7 trillion from $2.3 trillion, still well above Republicans’ latest $928 billion offer.

The two sides disagree on both what infrastructure is and how to pay for it.

Democratic Representative Pramila Jayapal, who heads the Congressional Progressive Caucus, warned that her 94 members cannot be counted on to back a small bill without a guarantee of a second package that has the support of all 50 Senate Democrats willing to push it through over Republican objections.

“Otherwise, what we’ll see is we do a small package and then all the momentum for doing something more goes away, and that is just not acceptable,” Jayapal said in an interview this week.

end quotes

Oh, really, Pramila, do tell!

And God bless Pramila, you know what I am saying?

Pramila Jayapal was born on 21 September, 1965 in Chennai, India, and now she is here, with a net worth in 2020 between $1 Million – $5 Million, dictating to Joe Biden what it is she will or will not accept, and hey, people, can you blame the poor dear?

After all, she has her net worth to defend.

Getting back to Reuters, we have:

Last month, progressives flexed their muscles when a group of six came close to torpedoing a U.S. Capitol Police budget bill intended to boost security around the building after the deadly Jan. 6 attack by followers of then-President Donald Trump.

That bill ultimately passed by only one vote.

Multiple progressive Democrats have urged Biden to abandon efforts to get Republicans on board with an infrastructure deal.

“We have the Senate, the House and the presidency.”

“Stop negotiating with a losing insurrectionist party who are trying to sabotage our democracy,” Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar tweeted on May 28.

end quotes

HUH?

“We have the Senate, the House and the presidency?”

We?

Who the **** is this “we” she is talking about?

And stop negotiating with a losing insurrectionist party who are trying to sabotage our democracy?

The only losing insurrectionist party who are trying to sabotage our democracy are these PROGRESSIVES who flock to the banner of Pramila Jaypal!

And my goodness, God bless Ilhan Omar, as well, people, for as of April of 2021, Ilhan Omar has a net wealth of $3 million!

Not at all bad for someone who came to us from the war-torn ****hole of Somalia, where according to Human Rights Watch 2020, ongoing armed conflict, insecurity, lack of state protection, and recurring humanitarian crises exposed Somali civilians to serious abuse.

end quotes

That is where this Ilhan Omar, whose political faction claims to control the Senate, the House and the presidency, gets her political views from – a war-torn ****hole that she wants to duplicate here, because ****hole factionalism and tribalism is all she knows, and let us be realistic about it people, tribalism is in her DNA going back probably millennia, so it is not surprising to see her pushing tribalism on us here in our country, which takes us back to her cultural context, to wit:

There are an estimated 2.6 million internally displaced people (IDPs), many living unassisted and vulnerable to abuse.

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) recorded a total of 1,154 civilian casualties by mid-November.

Inter-clan and intra-security force violence, often over control of land and revenge killings, led to civilian deaths, injuries, and displacement, as did sporadic military operations, including airstrikes, against Al-Shabab by Somali government forces, African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) troops, and other foreign forces.

Federal and regional authorities, particularly in Somaliland, continued to restrict free expression and media freedoms, including by harassing and arbitrarily detaining journalists and perceived critics, and temporarily shutting down media outlets.

end quotes

And if and when Ilhan gets her way, that is what we can expect from her here.

Getting back to Reuters, we have:

Progressives want the president to give Congress the green light to use a process known as “reconciliation” that would allow a bill to move through the Senate with just Democratic support.

That is how the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill was enacted in March.

end quotes

So much for this BULL**** Joe Biden is peddling as prime beef when he says “democracy is more than a form of government — it is a way of being,” which for him and his CULT of followers, it actually is, like a religion, and “Democracy must be defended at all costs,” and “Democracy, that’s the soul of America!”

Paul Plante says:

And while we ponder what could possibly be going on in the mind of “Corn Pop” Biden with respect to him detailing Queen Empress Kamala to solve the problems with Guatemala that are driving people from that country to our southern border, where the Biden administration is welcoming them in as new members of the Democrat party, for some essential background, because with respect to Guatemala, people, yes, we have been here before, many times, actually, the U.S. having a long history of relations with Guatemala, as “Corn Pop” himself should know, if any part of his mind remains intact, which is doubtful, let’s go back to 2016 when Hussein Obama was in the white house, and “Corn Pop” was his vice president, as follows:

The White House
Office of the Press Secretary
For Immediate Release

January 14, 2016

FACT SHEET: The United States and Central America: Honoring Our Commitments

On the occasion of the Vice President’s attendance at the inauguration of President Jimmy Morales in Guatemala City, the Obama administration reaffirms its commitment to a multiyear effort to assist the governments of Central America to build a safer and more prosperous future for their citizens, including through supporting governments to become more transparent, accountable, and capable of providing basic services and upholding the rule of law.

end quotes

And as we can see today, that was another failure of the Hussein Obama administration.

As to Jimmy Morales, a former cabinet minister accused Jimmy Morales of having sexually abused young female public workers with complicity of other government officials, and on January 14, 2020, Guatemalan civil society groups began pressuring Guatemalan authorities to arrest President Jimmy Morales for corruption after he left office, and eight of his allies, including some who were not in his administration, were charged with corruption, including two former FCN legislators and 2019 FCN presidential candidate Estuardo Galdámez.

end quotes

Quite the dude, alright.

Getting back to Obama:

For Fiscal Year 2016, the Administration plans to provide up to $750 million to implement its Strategy in support of the Northern Triangle’s Alliance for Prosperity Plan, and other regional priorities.

This figure more than doubles U.S. assistance to Central America of $305 million in Fiscal Year 2014 and represents a thirty-four percent increase over the $560 million allocated to the region in Fiscal Year 2015.

Under the $750 million approved by the U.S. Congress, the Administration is able to provide the region up to $299 million in Development Assistance, $222 million in International Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement funding towards the Central America Regional Security Initiative (CARSI), $184 million in Economic Support Funds for CARSI and regional prosperity, economic opportunity, and governance programs, $26 million in Foreign Military Financing, and $4 million in International Military Education and Training, in addition to funds for global health, demining, and other programs, including the Overseas Private Investment Corporation.

The new assistance from the United States to Central America will also place significant responsibility on the Northern Triangle governments to undertake needed reforms to receive U.S. funds in support of the Alliance for Prosperity Plan.

To this end, the United States Congress required that 25 percent of assistance to the national governments of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras be withheld until the U.S. Secretary of State certifies and reports to Congress that each government is taking effective steps to:

* Inform its citizens of the dangers of the journey to the southwest border of the United States.

* Combat human smuggling and trafficking

* Improve border security, and

* Facilitate the safe return, repatriation, and reintegration of undocumented migrants

The Obama administration also notes that an additional 50 percent of U.S. assistance to the national governments of the Northern Triangle countries may only be obligated after the U.S. Secretary of State certifies that each government is taking effective steps to meet criteria such as:

* Combat corruption and strengthen public institutions

* Improve civilian jurisdiction and counter activities of criminal organizations

* Protect human rights

* Support programs to promote equitable growth

* Implement effective civil society consultations, and

* Increase government revenues.

The Obama Administration recognizes that the enabling environment for sustained growth, stability and prosperity for the region will require good governance, including support for democratic values, strengthening criminal justice systems and other legal institutions to combat impunity and promote the rule of law, and advancing rights and protections for civil society and journalists, as well as for vulnerable and marginalized groups.

Only through measurable progress towards those objectives will the private sector, small business owners, and international investors have the necessary confidence in the security of their investment and assurances that business dealings are fair and legal.

The United States is also partnering with Central American and Caribbean countries to identify concrete steps to advance energy sector reform, regional integration, and clean energy development.

Bolstering Cooperation to Protect Vulnerable Migrants Consistent with U.S. Law

The Obama Administration is deepening cooperation between the United States and Central America to ensure that fewer migrants embark on the dangerous journey to the United States.

Those who do not qualify for refugee status will be returned consistent with U.S. law and values.

The numbers of unaccompanied children and family units apprehended at the United States’ southwest border have continued to increase through the fall and winter, a time when the numbers have historically decreased.

Unaccompanied children and family unit apprehensions in November and December were significantly above the previous highest apprehension totals for these months, which occurred in 2014.

As the President and Vice President have made clear, recently arrived undocumented migrants who have been through the immigration court process, have been determined by a U.S. immigration judge to not qualify for asylum or other relief, and have received final orders of removal, are immigration enforcement priorities and should be removed.

As part of the civil immigration enforcement priorities announced by Secretary Johnson in November 2014, the Department of Homeland Security is focused on removing individuals who, whether alone or with family members, have been apprehended while attempting to unlawfully enter the United States and individuals who have received a final order of removal on or after January 1, 2014.

While securing our Southwest border and enforcing our immigration laws are top priorities for the U.S. government, the Administration understands that these actions alone will not address the underlying conditions that currently exist in Central America. Current push factors driving the recent migration spike include criminal violence, domestic and sexual violence, a debilitating drought, and a lack of economic opportunity.

The U.S. Strategy for Engagement in Central America is intended to address many of underlying conditions driving migration.

The Administration is working diligently to establish additional avenues for safe, legal, and orderly migration.

Broadening access to protection for refugees from the Northern Triangle must be a shared responsibility of the United States, Central American governments, and the other countries of the hemisphere and around the world.

The United States plans to expand access to the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program for vulnerable individuals and families from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.

This will:

* Expanding access to resettlement for asylum seekers from the Northern Triangle.

* Offer a legal alternative to the dangerous and unlawful journey many are currently taking in the hands of human smugglers.

* Enable the United Nations High Commissioner on Refugees and its nongovernmental partners in the region to identify persons in need of refugee protection

* Better address the needs of those threatened by criminal gang violence and domestic violence, human rights defenders who have been targeted, and others.

A Comprehensive Approach

The Obama Administration is dedicated to pursuing a comprehensive approach in Central America.

This includes partnering with the region to advance good governance, prosperity, and citizen security, enforcing our domestic immigration laws, and working to provide services and assistance to migrants or intending migrants who may be at imminent risk of harm.

The Obama administration believes that a safe, stable, and prosperous Central America is vital in order to achieve a future where the Western Hemisphere is middle class, democratic, and secure.

Paul Plante says:

Which takes us to a Fox News story entitled “Angry ‘woke’ parents and teachers are trying to silence critics of critical race theory” by Kelly Laco on 29 May 2021, where we see the mental disease known as “woke-ism,” characterized by being continually in a delusional fog brought on by one’s own warped thoughts about the nature of reality is quite rampant in the Commonwealth of Virginia, as follows:

The critical race theory (CRT) fight in Virginia is getting personal as “woke” parents and teachers have started directly attacking critics of the controversial movement, including by threatening lawsuits.

end quotes

Their minds are closed and don’t do anything to try and open them, or they will sic their lawyers on your ***, and cancel you but good!

Getting back to that story, it continues thusly:

Ian Prior, executive director of Fight for Schools PAC and a Loudon County parent, recently received a cease-and-desist order from a fellow parent trying to silence him for speaking out against CRT by threatening legal action.

The cease-and-desist letter, reviewed by Fox News, accuses Prior of “misrepresenting” in a Tweet the parent’s comment on a post in a private Facebook group titled the “Anti-Racist Parents of Loudoun County.”

The post in question was calling for volunteers to gather information about anti-CRT parents in the community.

end quotes

HUH?

Gestapo tactics?

Spy on your neighbors and if they don’t think the right thoughts, turn them into the dreaded THOUGHT POLICE for mental reconditioning?

Getting back to that brewing drama here in the Commonwealth, we have:

On Twitter, Prior said that his name was being added to a “targeting campaign” that was “soliciting illegal activities” by members of the anti-racist parents group.

An attorney representing the Loudoun County parent wrote in the letter that the intent of the post was not to “harass or threaten” anyone.

Instead, the goal was to compile information on anti-CRT parents so that members of the group would be prepared to “understand” their narrative and better defend LCPS’s “equity programs” in the future.

Prior told Fox News that the letter sent to his home was a clear intent to silence him and included some serious misstatements of fact.

He said that the anti-racist parent group was clearly working to “infiltrate” and gain information about anti-CRT parents, and the parent who sent him the cease-and-desist letter gave the group his personal information including his first name, last name, area of residence and other details.

In addition, Prior retorted that the parent falsely represented their role in the anti-racist parents Facebook group in an attempt to smear his name.

He also points to the fact that Virginia police opened a criminal investigation into the activities of the Anti-Racist Parents of Loudoun County Facebook group over possible attempts to intimidate or silence anti-CRT parents by gathering personal information.

Similar cease-and-desist orders have also been sent to media outlets who are covering the CRT battle in LCPS, Fox News has learned.

An attorney representing the Loudoun County parent who sent the cease-and-desist letter to Prior did not respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

LCPS has denied teaching CRT in the classroom.

Superintendent Scott Ziegler previously said “LCPS has not adopted Critical Race Theory as a framework for staff to adhere to.”

Ziegler has also commented, “In explaining LCPS’ equity priorities, it might be helpful to state what they are not.”

“They are not an effort to indoctrinate students and staff into a particular philosophy or theory.”

“What they are is an effort to provide a welcoming, inclusive, affirming environment for all students.”

Prior and other anti-CRT parents argue that the school’s “equity priorities” promote the same concepts typically associated with CRT and other similar schools of thought.

Anti-critical race theory parents in Loudoun County are now spreading the word, telling Fox News that the “woke” educators and parents are “messing with the wrong parents” and they won’t back down or be intimidated by legal threats.

Instead, they are working towards gaining enough signatures to trigger a recall school board election.

The non-partisan and anti-CRT Fight for Schools PAC was founded in April with the intent of unseating multiple school board members in Loudoun County due to the ongoing CRT feud.

The PAC, which backs “common sense candidates” has gathered several thousand signatures supporting forcing a Loudoun school board recall election.

Once enough signatures are collected, a recall election of the Loudoun school board will be triggered.

“For the sake of our children, Loudoun County parents cannot wait until 2023 to elect new leaders,” Prior said when launching the PAC in April.

Many parents and teachers have not welcomed the growing momentum for a school board recall election from Prior and his supporters.

In March, the LCPS Minority Student Achievement Advisory Committee sent around a letter saying they would “silence the opposition” by parents against CRT.

In addition, text messages between Loudoun teachers also have shown that they used the term “we’re at war” with the parents against CRT.

In addition, it has been reported that the LCPS Office of Equity has recently encouraged students and parents to fill out a “Share, Speak Up, Speak Out” form to anonymously capture incidents of “bias,” according to emails.

In response to a request for comment on Loudoun County parents threatening legal action against each other, LCPS said that “any legal action, such as the one you describe, would fall outside of the realm of Loudoun County Public Schools.”

end quotes

And we will be right back with more drama and angst from the fox-hunting country of Loudoun County after a break for station identification and a word from our sponsors, so don’t touch that dial!

7 June 2021

New York State Senator Daphne Jordan
188 State Street, Legislative Office Bldg., Room 508
Albany, NY 12247

RE: Request of the Rensselaer County Matilda’s Law Survivors for grand jury investigation

Dear Senator Jordan:

With respect to our request to you as Matilda’s Law survivors in your senatorial district that you use your good offices as a Senator to see that a Grand Jury is empaneled in your senatorial district so that Health Commissioner Howard Zucker can be called to account before the people to explain his actions as New York State Health Commissioner subsequent to 17 January 2020 pursuant to §6 of Article I, the Bill of Rights, of the New York State Constitution, which section of our Constitution makes it clear that the power of grand juries to inquire into the wilful misconduct in office of public officers, and to find indictments or to direct the filing of informations in connection with such inquiries, shall never be suspended or impaired by law, New York State law requires that each grand juror be given a copy of Article 190 of the New York State Criminal Procedure Law (“CPL”) to read and to use as a reference while serving as a grand juror, and accordingly, in communicating with your office concerning this matter of importance to those of us in your senatorial district who did survive the isolation and solitary confinement Matilda’s Law imposed on many of us, to our detriment, we are using the New York State Unified Court System Grand Juror’s Handbook, a public document each person in New York over the age of 18 should be familiar with, as well as Article 190, which Article is included as part of the Grand Juror’s Handbook, as references so as to make our petition for a Grand Jury in this matter in conformance with the provisions of Article 190.

As Chief Justice Janet DiFiore states in the "Message From The Chief Judge" at the beginning of the Handbook, like voting, grand jury service gives the citizens of this state the opportunity to participate – in a very direct and personal way – in our democracy, and we are very much for that, as we believe you are, as well.

Of importance, under the heading “The Role of the Grand Jury in the Criminal Justice System,” it is clearly stated that the grand jury is an arm of the court, and it is not an agent of the prosecutor or the police.

Thus, the Grand Jury is the only body that we trust can be kept independent and free of partisan political pressures.

Now, with respect to the kinds of partisan political pressures that can be expected to brought to bear to attempt to derail this Grand Jury investigation, in the section of the Handbook entitled “Grand Jurors’ Questions,” it states as follows:

Grand jurors may ask questions about the law.

They may also ask questions of witnesses about the evidence.

Generally, the prosecutor reviews grand jurors’ questions for witnesses and permits only those that are relevant and legally proper.

end quotes

Accordingly, great thought must be given to the questions to be presented to Dr. Zucker ahead of time, given the power a politically-appointed prosecutor has over the process as an editor and as a censor, which takes us to this section of the Handbook, to wit:

Deciding Which Witnesses Testify

The prosecutor can call any witness believed to have relevant information.

Also, the grand jury may direct the prosecutor to call witnesses or to recall witnesses who have already testified.

When the grand jury directs the prosecutor to call a witness, that request must be honored.

However, the prosecutor may ask the judge to limit or prevent a witness’s appearance.

If the judge concludes that the witness’s appearance would not be in the public interest, the witness will not be called to testify.

end quotes

And hence, to prevent another cover-up like what happened in 1989 in Rensselaer County after Dr. Axelrod issued his Report of Investigation of corruption in the Rensselaer County Department of Health and the New York State Department of Health, it is critical that what truly is in the public’s interest in your senatorial district be made incandescently clear before the request is made of the Court to convene a Grand Jury, so that a politically-appointed prosecutor cannot sidestep the issue.

And that is something we wish you would put some serious thought into – what really is the public’s interest here?

And were the actions of Howard Zucker as Health Commissioner in this matter subsequent to 17 January 2020, according to the well-developed record, consistent with promoting the public good?

If according to New York State Public Health Law § 203, entitled Commissioner;  qualifications, the commissioner shall be a physician, a graduate of an incorporated medical college, of at least ten years’ experience in the actual practice of his profession, and of skill and experience in public health duties and sanitary science, then why was our COVID death toll so high?

Respectfully,

Paul Plante, NYSPE

As we Matilda’s Law survivors in your senatorial district press forward our request that you use your good offices as a Senator to see that a Grand Jury is empaneled in your senatorial district so that Health Commissioner Howard Zucker can be called to account before the people to explain his actions as New York State Health Commissioner subsequent to 17 January 2020 pursuant to §6 of Article I, the Bill of Rights, of the New York State Constitution, which section of our Constitution makes it clear that the power of grand juries to inquire into the wilful misconduct in office of public officers shall never be suspended or impaired by law, we would next draw your attention to §190.05 of Article 190 of the New York State Criminal Procedure Law, titled “Grand jury; definition and general functions,” where we have as follows:

A grand jury is a body consisting of not less than sixteen nor more than twenty-three persons, impaneled by a superior court and constituting apart of such court, the functions of which are to hear and examine evidence concerning offenses and concerning misconduct, nonfeasance and neglect in public office, whether criminal or otherwise, and to take action with respect to such evidence as provided in section 190.60.

end quotes

For our purposes, with respect to Howard Zucker, we are looking at misconduct, nonfeasance and neglect in public office, which takes us to a news article posted by WRGB entitled “Rensselaer County officials working with state and federal officials on coronavirus issue” by WRGB STAFF, Monday, March 2nd, 2020, which article served to enlighten us as to just how pathetically stupid the response in New York state, the epicenter of COVID in the world, really was, and how negligent and derelict Andy Cuomo and Howard Zucker really were with respect to COVID, as follows:

With confirmed cases of coronavirus in the nation and the state, Rensselaer County health officials took part in calls with the Centers for Disease Control and the New York State Department of Health regarding the issue.

At this time, there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus in the county.

Federal and state health officials have termed the spread of the illness nationally and in the state as “isolated” cases.

end quotes

For the record, that is on March 2, 2020, 54 days or nearly two months AFTER the CDC issued a public health alert about COVID to state and local health officers, state and local epidemiologists, state and local laboratory directors, public information officers, HAN coordinators, and clinician organizations, which would have included Howard Zucker, that we were being told by Federal and state health officials, presumably Howard Zucker, that the spread of COVID nationally and in the state were “isolated” cases.

Getting back to that article which really captures the incompetence of this state’s response to COVID, we have:

“We want residents to know that our team at the Health Department is monitoring this situation closely and working with state and federal officials to share information and get updates.”

“However, there is no need for undue concern or worry,” said County Executive Steve McLaughlin.

“We have been informed that New York State remains at a low risk for coronavirus.”

end quotes

And now New York state is second in the nation with COVID deaths.

Why?

In a rational world, how could that have happened?

Respectfully,

Paul Plante, NYSPE

THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR JUNE 12, 2021 AT 10:36 PM

Paul Plante says:

And speaking of having a crackpot economist in charge of our United States Treasury, and thus, essentially in charge of our lives, which is not a comforting thought at all, unless you are into and an advocate of HOODOO economics, a swirl of smaller crackpot theories rolled up into one major-league crackpot theory employed by Janet “TOODLES” Yellen, Joe Biden’s own personal financial guru, let’s go to a CNBC story entitled “Higher interest rates would be good for the country, Treasury Secretary Yellen says” by Emma Newburger published June 6, 2021, where we have this ignorant codswallop (nonsense, as in “I think that’s a right load of old codswallop”) from “TOODLES” which demonstrates how thin her grasp on the reality most of us who are not rich like her live our lives in, outside of her guarded and gated community where only the rich and privileged can go, to wit:

U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that President Joe Biden’s $4 trillion spending proposal would be positive for the country, even if it leads to a rise in interest rates.

“If we ended up with a slightly higher interest rate environment it would actually be a plus for society’s point of view and the Fed’s point of view,” Yellen told Bloomberg.

“We’ve been fighting inflation that’s too low and interest rates that are too low now for a decade,” she said.

She added that if the packages help at all to “alleviate things then that’s not a bad thing — that’s a good thing.”

end quotes

And that is from her perspective as someone who wants to protect her own net worth and has the political power to do so.

But historically speaking, what might be good for the fed is hardly good for society, since the federal reserve is a giant parasite that feeds off society and ultimately sucks the life out of it, to feed its bloated self, a process it is no longer in control of, which in turn takes us to The (Raleigh) News & Observer story “Lumber prices still sky-high amid COVID-19 shortage. What’s being done to get costs down?” by Bailey Aldridge on June 6, 2021, where we get further insight into “TOODLES's” statement “We’ve been fighting inflation that’s too low now for a decade,” to see where we are on that score, to wit:

RALEIGH — Lumber prices have continued surging in response to supply shortages spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The lumber scarcity matched with increased demand during the pandemic drove costs sky-high, which in turn has increased construction and housing costs and left government officials and those within the industry grappling with how to rebound supply and bring costs down.

Between April 2020 and April 2021, the National Association of Home Builders said the “price per thousand board feet” increased by nearly 250% — from $350 to $1,200.

Prices then soared past $1,400 in early May and have continued increasing since.

The high lumber costs have increased the price of a single-family home by about $36,000, the NAHB says.

That’s priced “millions of middle-class households out of the market at a level they previously could afford.”

It’s also added nearly $13,000 to the cost of an “average new multifamily” home — meaning rent for a new apartment has gone up by about $119 each month.

end quotes

And you know what, people?

The fed loves that, because it to their benefit, not being of us, or a part of us, but a large blood-sucking parasite over us, which takes us back to that story, to wit:

What’s being done to bring lumber prices down?

The NAHB said it has called for “prompt action” from President Joe Biden’s administration and other officials and in late May discussed the soaring lumber prices with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo.

“Raimondo and NAHB CEO Jerry Howard discussed working together on convening a summit that would include representatives from the U.S. government, the lumber supply chain and the home building industry,” it said.

end quotes

And Holy Cow, people, there is a solution alright – convene a summit, get all the right people in the room at the same time and have some palaver, and out of that will come something, else why have a summit in the first place?

Getting back to the story:

NAHB Chairman Chuck Fowke said in a news release that Raimondo acknowledged she and Biden are concerned about the effect of high lumber prices on the country’s economy.

“We take these issues seriously, and my staff and I are committed to continuing to work with all stakeholders, including reviewing relevant data and conducting analysis to identify targeted actions the government or industry can take to address supply chain constraints,” Raimondo said, according to the NAHB.

end quotes

And hey, Gina, dude, no rush!

Don’t get yourself all stressed out about something you’re totally out of your league in, other than issuing empty platitudinal statements to the effect you “take these issues seriously, and my staff and I are committed to continuing to work with all stakeholders, including reviewing relevant data and conducting analysis to identify targeted actions the government or industry can take to address supply chain constraints,”

Getting back to the story once again:

Some GOP lawmakers have criticized Biden for the high lumber costs, accusing him of “declaring war” on construction jobs and not taking enough action, Fox Business reported.

“Lumber prices are an issue that has many causes, from economic complications from the coronavirus pandemic to difficult trade issues with Canada.”

“Biden has shown he is either unwilling or incapable of tackling these obstacles,” Rep. Bob Gibbs of Ohio said in a statement to Fox News.

But Biden said during remarks in late May that rebooting the economy isn’t like “flipping on a light switch” and that there will be supply chain issues on the way to “steady growth.”

“In the coming weeks, my administration will take steps to combat these supply pressures, starting with the construction materials and transportation bottlenecks,” Biden said.

Some groups have urged Biden to remove lumber and steel tariffs imposed during President Donald Trump’s administration, CNN Business reports.

A White House spokesperson told CNN Business that the Biden administration is pursuing “every avenue that could help relieve bottlenecks and strengthen our economic recovery” and that it will continue to review Trump-era trade policies.

“Tariffs are one tool in the toolbox to support American workers and American industry,” the spokesperson said, according to CNN Business.

end quotes

Except tariffs, which benefit the treasury, are killing the home construction industry, and in the case of lumber, are doing doodly-squat to support American workers or American industry, but Joe needs those tariffs to support his massive and grandiose stimulation, so there we are and if we go back to the story once again, we will see that there is where we will remain, to wit:

What pushed prices so high?

Some sawmills were forced to shut down at the beginning of the pandemic, limiting lumber supplies.

At the same time, many American stuck at home due to COVID-19 restrictions stocked up on materials to complete do-it-yourself projects and demand for construction or home improvement projects increased.

Additionally, Fortune reports that many potential homebuyers opted for construction when record-low interest rates spurred a boom in the housing market, further driving up demand.

“It was the perfect storm,” Kari Doll, manager at a lumber yard in Montana, told the Bozeman Daily Chronicle.

The decrease in supply coupled with the increase in demand drove lumber prices sky-high.

Now, the backlogged supply hasn’t been able to catch up with the high demand and lumber prices have remained elevated.

Experts have offered varying projections on when prices could come down, with some saying they could ease in the summer and others saying it’s unclear when or if prices will return to where they were before the boom.

end quotes

Oh, well, should have built that new dog house last year, when it would still have been affordable!

Sorry, Fido, a tarp over the picnic table will have to suffice for now, and well, okay, quite a long time but thank God dogs are patient, or there might have been some leg-biting over that news.

Paul Plante says:

And while we are on about this ABSOLUTE RIDICULOUS HORSE**** SPEW from Raymond Otton to support his bizarre theory that “TRUMP WON” because “ST. RUDOLPHO” Giuliani, the patron saint of Conservatives like Raymond Otton who hangs on his every word as if it was “THE VOICE OF GOD,” which to a Conservative it actually is, “knows crimes” because unlike the ordinary person, “ST. RUDOLPHO,” the patron saint of Conservatives like Raymond Otton, who believes this implicitly, he can actually “smell them,” I can’t believe, Publius, and did I say I like you, because you seem nice, are asking me to squander my credibility by throwing in with that that PACK OF FOOLS headed up by Raymond Otton who are basing their claims of “TRUMP WON” on Rudy Giuliani’s ability to smell crime, which is so stupid it is bizarre, especially when you look at pictures of Giuliani who is so full of **** it actually issues out of fissures in his head the way magma pours forth from fissures in that volcano in Hawaii.

Scientific experts I have spoken to who use actual science to figure these things out figure that for the **** in Rudolph Giuliani’s body to get extruded through the pores of his head, the pressure in there has to be a whopping 15,000 to 30,000 psi, if you can wrap your mind around that figure, Publius, an occasion I have every confidence that you can rise up to.

Anyway, I can’t believe you’re actually seriously asking me to embrace a man so full of **** it comes out of his head, and I figure that what you are doing in reality is presenting me with a test to determine whether I am a real ******* moron who would treat somebody with **** coming out of his head as a source of truth about anything, or am I in fact what I say I really am, which is a rational, logical, lucid person who sees Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s personal lawyer, by the way, as an absolute pitiful A-HOLE, which takes us to an article in The Guardian by Nomaan Merchant, The Associated Press, entitled “Sweaty Rudy Giuliani suffers hair malfunction in latest bizarre press conference,” where we had the absurd BULL**** Rayomd Otton believes in, as follows:

Trump’s personal lawyer was trying to drum up interest in tales of election rigging – but viewers were drawn to the drama on his head

end quotes

As an aside, Publius, don’t those Brits write good?

Getting back to that totally bizarre story, which is far beyond, in terms of total absurdity, any of the weirdness the Democrats were able to put forth as their best efforts at THEATER OF THE ABSURD with the Michael Cohen hearings which pale in comparison to the weirdness of this “TRUMP WON” saga of Raymond Otton’s, which takes us back to The Guardian, to wit:

On 7 November, the day the presidential election was called for Joe Biden, former New York mayor turned Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani addressed the media at a landscaping company between a sex shop and a crematorium on Philadelphia’s industrial fringe.

end quote

Yes, people, talk about TALES OF THE ABSOLUTE ******* BIZARRE, there we have it in technicolor – Rudy Giuliani with **** pouring out of his head on camera addressing the media at a landscaping company garage between a sex shop and a crematorium on Philadelphia’s industrial fringe.

Lanny Davis, eat out your heart, dude, because when it comes to PROFESSIONAL THEATER OF THE ABSURD, the Conservatives have cleaned your clock!

Getting back to The Guardian, it continues thusly:

For two weeks, as the Trump campaign continued to claim without evidence that the election had been stolen, America wondered if Giuliani could possibly ever top that.

On Thursday, he gave it a damned good try.

A day after his claims of massive voter fraud fell flat in a Pennsylvania court room, Giuliani staged another press conference, this time in slightly more salubrious surrounds, at Republican National Committee headquarters in Washington DC.

But it did not go well.

First, while claiming Republican poll observers had been kept too far away from ballot counters in Philadelphia, a key Trump claim in a vital state which like others fell to Biden, Giuliani attempted to recite a scene from My Cousin Vinny, an Oscar-winning comedy from 1992.

“Did you all watch My Cousin Vinny?”

“You know the movie?”

“It’s one of my favorite law movies, because he comes from Brooklyn,” he said.

Giuliani, who also comes from Brooklyn, tried to sum up a key plot point from Jonathan Lynn’s film, in which Joe Pesci’s personal injury lawyer, hitherto out of his depth in a murder trial, manages to discredit a key witness by proving her vision to be impaired.

“And when the nice lady said she saw …” Giuliani said, switching into a very rough approximation of Pesci’s Brooklyn accent.

“And then he says to her, ‘How many fingers do I …'”

“‘How many fingers do I got up?'”

“‘And she says three.'”

“‘Oh, she was too far away to see it was only two.'”

“These people [the poll observers] were further away than My Cousin Vinny was from the witness.”

“They couldn’t see a thing,” he added, apparently drawing a line between the movie scene and claims about the problems faced by poll observers in Philadelphia.

So far, so predictably surreal.

But things got stickier.

As Giuliani sweated in front of journalists, streaks of what appeared to be dark hair dye began to run down his face.

The internet noticed, of course, and jokes and ridicule spread.

Worse still for the Trump campaign, the audio feed from the press conference suddenly included unknown persons asking “Can they hear us on the stream?” and discussing “Rudy’s hair dye dripping down his face”.

end quotes

HILARIOUS, people, and this is the HORSE**** I would have to embrace to be a loyal OTTON-ite believing “TRUMP WON!”

Getting back to that story in The Guardian:

Eventually, the feed was taken down.

But Giuliani is nothing if not a trooper for Trump.

After mopping back the tarry rivulets, he raised his voice to make his point to the reporters in the room.

“I don’t know what you need to wake you up, to do your job and inform the American people, whether you like it or not, of the things they need to know!” he said.

“This is real!”

“It’s not made up!”

“There’s nobody here who engages in fantasies.”

After the former mayor stood back, continuing to mop his forehead, Trump lawyer Sidney Powell took over the offensive.

She claimed to have identified “massive influence of communist money through Venezuela, Cuba and likely China in the interference with our elections here in the United States”.

By that point, the unsubstantiated claim barely seemed bizarre.

end quotes

And there we have it, people – that’s the HORSE**** you have to embrace to be a TRUE BELIEVER that Trump won anything other than the BOOBY PRIZE for BIGGEST A-HOLE in an American presidential contest ever, and I’m not making a fool of myself before TWO MILLION viewers joining that crowd!

THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR JUNE 17, 2021 AT 10:38 AM

Paul Plante says:

And while we are on the subject of deconstructing and unpacking the patently ridiculous and totally delusional TRIPE TRUMP CULTIST Raymond Otton is peddling in here that Trump is the president of the United States of America, let’s go to a Reuters story on that very subject of the delusional state of mind TRUMP CULTISTS like Raymond Otton live their lives in as a result of too much ingestion of far too much toxic TRUMP KOOL-AID, which rots brain cells big time, entitled, very appropriately, “‘Pure insanity’: Justice Dept. rebuffed Trump bid to overturn election” by Susan Heavey and Jan Wolfe on June 15, 2021, to wit:

WASHINGTON, June 15 (Reuters) – Former President Donald Trump pressed the Justice Department during his waning weeks in office to join his failed effort to overturn his election defeat based on his false claims of voting fraud, but its leaders refused, with one decrying the “pure insanity” of the claims, documents released on Tuesday showed.

end quotes

That “pure insanity,” of course, is what Raymond Otton in his delusional state of mind clings to as his version of “truth,” and anyone who wants to be an OTTON-ite in here has to accept that, as well as their “truth,” which takes us back to the story, as follows:

The records, obtained by the House of Representatives Oversight and Reform Committee, provided new insight into the actions of the Republican former president in trying to enlist the department to act on his claims.

The documents showed a series of overtures made by Trump, then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and an outside private attorney, Kurt Olsen.

The department ultimately did not join the effort and numerous courts rejected lawsuits seeking to overturn election results in various states.

The department under outgoing Attorney General William Barr, who left his post on Dec. 23, and his short-term replacement Jeffrey Rosen decided not to act on the false claims of voting fraud.

Biden took office on Jan. 20.

end quotes

And now Raymond Otton and his pack of lunatics, morons, mouth-breathers and other assorted ilk are howling and baying at the moon that the election was “STOLEN” from Trump, and that Trump is really the president, which takes us back to Reuters for more of the OTTON TIN-HAT CONSPIRACY THEORY, to wit:

The emails showed that Meadows asked Justice Department officials to investigate an unfounded conspiracy theory called “Italygate” alleging that U.S. electoral data was changed in Italian facilities with the knowledge of the CIA.

On Jan. 1, Meadows sent Rosen a link to a YouTube video detailing the theory.

Rosen forwarded the email to then-acting Deputy Attorney General Richard Donoghue, who replied: “Pure insanity.”

end quotes

Which, of course, does not stop a TRUE BELIEVER like Raymond Otton from embracing the insanity as their truth, which again takes us back to Reuters for more, as follows:

The documents also showed that Trump pressured Rosen when he was deputy attorney general to have the department take up the election fraud claims.

The emails showed Rosen declined to arrange a meeting between Justice Department officials and Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani about his false claims that the November election was stolen.

Meadows had asked Rosen to help arrange the proposed meeting with Giuliani, the emails showed.

“I flatly refused, said I would not be giving any special treatment to Giuliani or any of his ‘witnesses,’ and re-affirmed yet again that I will not talk to Giuliani about any of this,” Rosen wrote to a Justice Department colleague on Jan. 1.

Giuliani had played a prominent role in promoting Trump’s false election claims.

Trump, through an assistant, sent Rosen a Dec. 14 email with documents purporting to show evidence of election fraud in northern Michigan – a debunked allegation that a federal judge had already rejected.

Two weeks later, on Dec. 29, Trump’s White House assistant emailed Rosen, who by then was the acting attorney general, and other Justice Department lawyers a draft legal brief that they were urged to file at the U.S. Supreme Court.

The department never filed the brief.

end quotes

So there is the DEEP STATE CONSPIRACY against Trump exposed for all to see.

Paul Plante says:

And while we are reviewing the ABSOLUTE HORSE**** I would have to believe in, implicitly, to be an OTTON-ite or believer that “TRUMP WON,” let’s go to his main source of information which is conservative ICON Rudolpho Giuliani, known to the conservatives as “ST. RUDOLPH THE HOLY,” to wit:

PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER

“Giuliani berates reporters for questioning election claims, saying, ‘I know crimes. I can smell them’”

by Nomaan Merchant, The Associated Press

Published Nov 19, 2020

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump and his allies are taking increasingly frantic steps to subvert the results of the 2020 election, including summoning state legislators to the White House as part of a longshot bid to overturn Joe Biden’s victory.

Among other last-ditch tactics: personally calling local election officials who are trying to rescind their certification votes in Michigan, suggesting in a legal challenge that Pennsylvania set aside the popular vote there and pressuring county officials in Arizona to delay certifying vote tallies.

Election law experts see it as the last, dying gasps of the Trump campaign and say Biden is certain to walk into the Oval Office come January.

But there is great concern that Trump’s effort is doing real damage to public faith in the integrity of U.S. elections.

“It’s very concerning that some Republicans apparently can’t fathom the possibility that they legitimately lost this election,” said Joshua Douglas, a law professor at the University of Kentucky who researches and teaches election law.

“We depend on democratic norms, including that the losers graciously accept defeat,” he said.

“That seems to be breaking down.”

Trump’s own election security agency has declared the 2020 presidential election to have been the most secure in history.

Days after that statement was issued, Trump fired the agency’s leader.

The increasingly desperate and erratic moves are not expected to change the outcome of the 2020 election, where Biden has now received more votes than any other presidential candidate in history and has clinched the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win.

But the president’s constant barrage of baseless claims, his work to personally sway local officials who certify votes and his allies’ refusal to admit he lost is likely to have a lasting negative impact on the country.

Legions of his supporters don’t believe he lost.

“It’s about trying to set up the conditions where half of the country believes that there are only two possibilities, either they win or the election was stolen,” said Justin Levitt, a constitutional law scholar and professor at Loyola Law School.

“And that’s not a democracy.”

end quotes

As to “ST. RUDOLPH,” the patron saint of conservatives like Raymond Otton and his little dog Stuart, saying, “I know crimes, I can smell them,” the only crime he was smelling was emanating from his Depends which he hadn’t bothered to change in a week.

And talk about a picture being worth a thousand words, this one of Raymond Otton’s conservative hero “ST. RUDOLPH” is a real American classic:

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_ ... 0980557060

And you want me to join in with that CIRCUS and STUPID SHOW, Publius, and become another conservative moron like Raymond Otton and his little purse dog Stuart?

Yeah, right!
