WHERE IS THE CLIMATE CRISIS?

Post by thelivyjr »

THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR SEPTEMBER 24, 2023

Op-Ed:Where is the Climate Crisis?

The following Op-Ed is written and submitted by Paul Plante.

If one looks up the meaning of the term “mind****,” the Oxford Dictionary defines the term as “a disturbing or extremely confusing experience, in particular one that is caused by deliberate psychological manipulation,” while Collins Dictionary defines it as “the deliberate infliction of psychological damage,” and both definitions apply quite well to what is really going on with this BIDEN CLIMATE CRISIS (SHUDDER SHUDDER OMG WE’RE ALL GOING TO DIE OF CLIMATE CHANGE IF COVID DOESN’T KILL US FIRST) which is the deliberate infliction of psychological damage on the American people by the Biden regime on steroids.

WHERE IS THIS CLIMATE CRISIS?

WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?

HOW CAN WE TELL THAT THERE IS A CLIMATE CRISIS THAT IS AN EXISTENTIAL THREAT TO OUR NATION?

Simply stated, where is this CLIMATE CRISIS BULL**** coming from, and why?

The why, of course, is simple and obvious and is a replay of the COVID CRISIS, which crisis resulted in a huge looting of our national treasury, which in turn, greatly increased our national deficit, while at the same time cementing in the minds of the Washington politicians that they can rape our national treasury to their heart’s content, so long as they are looting it in the name of a CRISIS, and a CLIMATE CRISIS is a good one to have, precisely because it is a very scary term that no one can question since they don’t have a clue as to what it even is, which takes us to July 20, 2022, and “Remarks by President Biden on Actions to Tackle the Climate Crisis” from Brayton Point Power Station in Somerset, Massachusetts, where we have as follows on the CLIMATE CRISIS from the BIG GUY himself, Joseph Robinette Biden, Junior, to wit:

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.

I come here today with a message: As President, I have a responsibility to act with urgency and resolve when our nation faces clear and present danger.

And that’s what climate change is about.

It is literally, not figuratively, a clear and present danger.

The health of our citizens and our communities is literally at stake.

The U.N.’s leading international climate scientists called the latest climate report nothing less than, quote, “code red for humanity.”

Let me say it again: “Code red for humanity.”

It’s not a group of political official — elected officials.

These are the scientists.

Climate change is literally an existential threat to our nation and to the world.

So my message today is this: Since Congress is not acting as it should — and these guys here are, but we’re not getting many Republican votes — this is an emergency.

An emergency.

And I will — I will look at it that way.

I said last week and I’ll say it again loud and clear: As President, I’ll use my executive powers to combat climate — the climate crisis in the absence of congressional actions, notwithstanding their incredible action.

(Applause.)

In the coming days, my administration will announce the executive actions we have developed to combat this emergency.

end quotes

CREATE MASS HYSTERIA TO CONTROL THE MINDS OF LARGE POPULATIONS TO MAKE THEM FEARFUL AND THUS, TRACTABLE (easy to control or influence)!

It worked great for Adolph Hitler in Germany, and now it is working great for Joe Biden here in America, as he reduces the population of America to the status of frightened gibbering idiots with all his talk of this CLIMATE CRISIS, which takes us back to back to March 29, 2021, and the “FACT SHEET: Biden Administration Jumpstarts Offshore Wind Energy Projects to Create Jobs,” where we have more blatant and intentional mind******* by the Biden Regime, to wit:

* Secretary of Interior Deb Haaland: “For generations, we’ve put off the transition to clean energy and now we’re facing a climate crisis.”

“It’s a crisis that doesn’t discriminate – every community is facing more extreme weather and the costs associated with that.”

“But not every community has the resources to rebuild, or even get up and relocate when a climate event happens in their backyards.”

“The climate crisis disproportionately impacts communities of color and low-income families.”

“As our country faces the interlocking challenges of a global pandemic, economic downturn, racial injustice, and the climate crisis – we have to transition to a brighter future for everyone.”

* Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo: “We look forward to engaging the public and private sectors to invest in clean energy solutions, like offshore wind, that will contribute to our whole-of-government approach to combat the climate crisis and create high-paying, high-skilled American jobs.”

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg: “Tackling the climate crisis is vital to our nation’s future,” said U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.

end quotes

So, if we have all these very important people like Peter Paul Montgomery Buttigieg telling us we have a CLIMATE CRISIS, then my goodness, people, we must really have one then or they wouldn’t be saying it!

But before we believe that absurd nonsense, let’s go back to what Biden Secretary of Interior Deb Haaland (cue “Lies, Lies, Lies” by JJ Cale https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiJKYNKr3so ) is saying, where she tells us the CLIMATE CRISIS is our fault, because for generations, we’ve put off the transition to clean energy and now we’re facing a CLIMATE CRISIS, a crisis that she says in one breath doesn’t discriminate, while in another breath she says it does discriminate by disproportionately impacting communities of color and low-income families, so that every community is facing more extreme weather and the costs associated with that.

And that is rank, shameless POLITICAL BULL****, because my community, where I have lived for over 70 years IS NOT facing any more extreme weather, whatever that stupid term is supposed to mean, than we have had up here in my lifetime.

THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR SEPTEMBER 25, 2023 AT 6:41 PM

Paul R Plante, NYSPE says:

So, people, let’s go back to March 29, 2021, and the “FACT SHEET: Biden Administration Jumpstarts Offshore Wind Energy Projects to Create Jobs,” where we had Joe Biden’s Secretary of Interior Deb Haaland, who earned a Bachelor’s degree in English at the University of New Mexico (UNM), and later earned a J.D. from UNM Law School, and thus, has no qualifications whatsoever to be speaking to us about CLIMATE CRISES, speaking of CLIMATE CRISES, as follows, to wit:

“For generations, we’ve put off the transition to clean energy and now we’re facing a climate crisis.”

“As our country faces the interlocking challenges of a global pandemic, economic downturn, racial injustice, and the climate crisis – we have to transition to a brighter future for everyone.”

end quotes

And let’s specifically focus in on these words from out of her lawyer’s mouth, to wit: “not every community has the resources to rebuild, or even get up and relocate when a climate event happens in their backyards.”

A “climate event” in their backyards, people?

So what on earth is a “climate event,” other than a silly-sounding, made-up political term meant to scare us, like the boogie-man down the street, and it is guaranteed that IF I were to stand up somewhere where Deb Haaland was spewing this political horse**** about “climate events” in people’s backyards, and challenge her on the subject, I would be swarmed on all sides by a team of burly security thugs who would bounce me off the floor, knee me in the kidneys, and then haul me upright with my arms pinioned behind my back as they frog-marched me out of the place as an object lesson to anyone else foolish enough to question Deb’s bull****.

According to Joe Biden’s EPA, the difference between a climate event and a weather event is that severe weather conditions include hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, and droughts while climate is the long-term average of the weather in a given place, so that while the weather can change in minutes or hours, a change in climate is something that develops over longer periods of decades to centuries.

So how can there be a climate event?

IT IS A STUPID TERM!

But that will not stop Deb Haaland from spewing that horsecrap, and that takes us back in time to 1781 to the “Notes on the State of Virginia” of United States president Thomas Jefferson where it is made incandescently clear that there is no such thing as a “stable climate,” nor is there a such a thing as a climate that is common to all places in the United States of America, to wit:

“In an extensive country, it will of course be expected that the climate is not the same in all its parts.”

end quote

Now, IF Tom Jefferson was aware of that reality back in 1781, what can be said about Deb Haaland today, besides the fact that she is stupid?

Going back to Tom Jefferson, we have further on things we should have learned in grade school, to wit:

“It is remarkable, that proceeding on the same parallel of latitude westwardly, the climate becomes colder in like manner as when you proceed northwardly.”

“This continues to be the case till you attain the summit of the Alleghaney, which is the highest land between the ocean and the Missisipi.”

“From thence, descending in the same latitude to the Missisipi, the change reverses; and, if we may believe travellers, it becomes warmer there than it is in the same latitude on the sea-side.”

end quotes

Who’d a thought it!

Not Deb Haaland, anyway.

And today, if one goes to a travel site on the internet and asks for what the climate of Virginia is, this is the answer one gets, to wit:

Virginia’s climate is humid, sub-tropical, enjoying pleasantly hot summers and relatively mild but crisp winters, with moderate rainfall throughout the year.

Average coastal temperatures in July and August rarely exceed 90°F (32°C), while in winter there is often snow.

The mountainous areas in the west of the region provide welcome respite from the higher temperatures of summer.

end quotes

If one then asks for the climate of New York, one gets this:

The climate of New York state is generally humid continental, while the extreme southeastern portion of the state (New York City and Long Island area) lies in the warm humid subtropical climate zone.

Winter temperatures average below freezing during January and February in much of New York state, but several degrees above freezing along the Atlantic coastline, including New York City.

Seasonally, summer-like conditions prevail from June to early September statewide, while areas in far southern New York and New York City have summer conditions from late May through late September.

Cold-air damming east of the Appalachians leads to protracted periods of cloud cover and precipitation east of the range, primarily between the October and April months.

Winter-like conditions prevail from November through April in northern New York, and from December through March in southern New York.

On average, western New York is much cloudier than points south and east in New York, much of it generated from the Great Lakes.

The significant urbanization within New York city has led to an urban heat island, which causes temperatures to be warmer overnight in all seasons.

Annual precipitation is fairly even throughout the year across New York state.

The Great Lakes region of New York sees the highest annual rain and snow amounts in New York state, and heavy lake-effect snow is common in both western and central New York in winter.

In the hotter months, large, long-lived complexes of thunderstorms can invade the state from Canada and the Great Lakes, while tropical cyclones can bring rains and winds from the southwest during the summer and fall.

Hurricane impacts on the state occur once every 18–19 years, with major hurricane impacts every 70–74 years.

An average of ten tornadoes touch down in New York annually.

end quotes

So what “climate events” is this lawyer Deb Haaland talking about?

As to Notes on the State of Virginia, it originated in Jefferson’s responding to questions about Virginia posed to him in 1780 by François Barbé-Marbois, then Secretary of the French delegation in Philadelphia, the temporary capital of the United Colonies.

Widely considered the most important American book published before 1800, Notes on the State of Virginia is both a compilation of data by Jefferson about the state’s natural resources and economy, and includes this following on climate, to wit:

“A change in our climate however is taking place very sensibly.”

“Both heats and colds are become much more moderate within the memory even of the middle-aged.”

“Snows are less frequent and less deep.”

“They do not often lie, below the mountains, more than one, two, or three days, and very rarely a week.”

“They are remembered to have been formerly frequent, deep, and of long continuance.”

“The elderly inform me the earth used to be covered with snow about three months in every year.”

“The rivers, which then seldom failed to freeze over in the course of the winter, scarcely ever do so now.”

“This change has produced an unfortunate fluctuation between heat and cold, in the spring of the year, which is very fatal to fruits.”

“From the year 1741 to 1769, an interval of twenty-eight years, there was no instance of fruit killed by the frost in the neighbourhood of Monticello.”

“An intense cold, produced by constant snows, kept the buds locked up till the sun could obtain, in the spring of the year, so fixed an ascendency as to dissolve those snows, and protect the buds, during their developement, from every danger of returning cold.”

“The accumulated snows of the winter remaining to be dissolved all together in the spring, produced those overflowings of our rivers, so frequent then, and so rare now.”

Re: WHERE IS THE CLIMATE CRISIS?

Post by thelivyjr »

THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR SEPTEMBER 28, 2023 AT 8:56 PM

Paul R Plante, NYSPE says:

So, people, think about it – we’re the first generation to come along in the entire history of the earth that is now confronted with an honest-to-gosh CLIMATE CRISIS, as opposed to the just plain old garden variety bad weather (cue “Bad Moon on the Rise” by Credence Clearwater Revival https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUQiUFZ5RDw ) that our parents and grand parents used to get, back before there was a CLIMATE CRISIS, so that makes us special when you think about it, and that is going to spawn a whole new group of survivors in America along the lines of the many sexual abuse survivors we have in this country, this new group being CLIMATE CRISIS SURVIVORS.

And how do I know there is a CLIMATE CRISIS?

Because Joe Biden’s Secretary of Interior Deb Haaland, who earned a Bachelor’s degree in English at the University of New Mexico (UNM), and later earned a J.D. from UNM Law School, and thus, has no qualifications or expertise whatsoever, other than being politically reliable and amenable to spewing whatever GREAT BIG LIES the Biden regime wants her to spew, told me so!

And how does she know there is a CLIMATE CRISIS?

Simple, she heard it from Joe Biden’s Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, and Gina knows there is a CLIMATE CRISIS because she heard it from Joe Biden’s Secretary of Transportation Peter Paul Montgomery Buttigieg, and Peter heard about it from Democrat Lizzie Warren, who in turn heard about it from Joe Biden’s Treasury Secretary Janet “TOODLES” Yellen, who learned about it in a briefing from Joe Biden, who in turn knows about it, because he was told about it by Greta Thunberg, who herself learned about it in a fever dream she had when she was five or six years old.

And that is just how this ridiculous and absurd BULL**** happens!

EVERYBODY telling us about this CLIMATE CRISIS is either named Joe Biden, or works for Joe Biden, or is a DEMOCRAT!

So, given that, let’s take this opportunity presented us here, courtesy of the Cape Charles Mirror, to engage in some critical thinking and do some rational analysis of what Biden's Secretary of Interior Deb Haaland is telling us about the so-called CLIMATE CRISIS (it’s 71 and sunny up here, with no wind, rain, snow, hurricanes or tornadoes or other climate events in sight).

What we are to believe, if we are to be considered GOOD AMERICANS, is that for generations (a generation can be described as the average period, generally considered to be about 20–30 years, during which children are born and grow up, become adults, and begin to have children), we’ve put off the transition to clean energy, so that now we’re facing a climate crisis, a crisis that doesn’t discriminate with every community facing more extreme weather and the costs associated with that.

But is that true?

Is EVERY community in America now facing more extreme weather and the costs associated with that?

I live in a community which was first settled around 1770, and became a town in 1848, and we are not facing more extreme weather today than we have ever faced, and in fact, we have less extreme weather than we did when I was young (I have been in this town over 70 years).

And consider that as of 2018, there were 19,495 incorporated cities, towns and villages in the United States with 14,768 of those having populations below 5,000, while only ten have populations above 1 million and none are above 10 million, and 310 cities are considered at least medium cities with populations of 100,000 or more.

So each and every one of them is facing more extreme weather and the costs associated with that?

Not hardly is that answer.

But Biden Secretary of Interior Deb Haaland is a public official accountable to no one but Joe Biden, the archetypal lying, dog-faced pony soldier himself, and so, Deb can lie to us through her teeth with impunity, because she will never be held to account for any lies she tells us, so long as those lies are the lies Joe Biden wants told, which takes us to this from Deb, to wit: “But not every community has the resources to rebuild, or even get up and relocate when a climate event happens in their backyards.”

A “climate event” happens in their backyards?

According to Joe Biden’s National Institute of Health, a climate event refers to weather phenomena that are at the extremes of the historical distribution and are rare for a particular place and/or time, especially severe or unseasonal weather with such extremes including severe thunderstorms; severe snowstorms, ice storms, blizzards, flooding, hurricanes, and high winds, and heat waves.

So what then is a “severe thunderstorm?”

Or a severe snowstorm?

Here where I am, in my lifetime, we have had severe thunderstorms, severe snowstorms, ice storms, blizzards, flooding, hurricanes, high winds, and heat waves, and that has been considered normal.

And that thought takes us to Climate.gov, and a NOAA article titled “What is an “extreme event”? Is there evidence that global warming has caused or contributed to any particular extreme event?” by David Herring on October 29, 2020, where we have this following on that subject to consider, to wit:

An extreme event is a time and place in which weather, climate, or environmental conditions — such as temperature, precipitation, drought, or flooding — rank above a threshold value near the upper or lower ends of the range of historical measurements.

Though the threshold is subjective, some scientists define extreme events as those that occur in the highest or lowest 5% or 10% of historical measurements.

Other times they describe events by how far they are from the mean, or by their recurrence interval or probability.

end quotes

And go back to that second sentence and note the use of the word “subjective,” which means “based on or influenced by personal feelings, tastes, or opinions,” as opposed to “objective,” which means “not influenced by personal feelings or opinions in considering and representing facts.”

Or said another way, one uses the term “subjective” when talking about an opinion or feeling that is based on an individual’s perspective or preferences, while one uses the term “objective” when talking about something — like an assessment, decision, or report — that’s unbiased and based solely on the observable or verifiable facts.

THE SO-CALLED CLIMATE CRISIS IS SUBJECTIVE, PEOPLE!

THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT SUCH A THING EXISTS!

BUT IT DOES MAKE FOR POWERFUL POLITICAL PROPAGANDA TO SCARE THE BEJAYSUS OUT OF PEOPLE SO THAT JOE BIDEN CAN THEN LOOT BILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS FROM OUR TREASURY WITH NO QUESTIONS ASKED AND NO OVERSIGHT, BECAUSE WELL, YOU KNOW, IT’S A CRISIS!

And that takes us back to NOAA, to wit:

To date, climate research has yet to show that any given event was caused solely by global warming.

However, over the past decade, research has demonstrated that climate change due to global warming has made many extreme events more likely, more intense, longer-lasting, or larger in scale than they would have been without it.

For many of the events that have been studied, global warming has been identified as the primary driver of the event, not just a supporting player.

And a number of recent studies have concluded that certain heat-related extreme events would not have been possible without human-caused global warming.

Extreme event attribution is the science of figuring out what caused a given extreme weather or climate event, and weighting the relative influence of global warming versus natural variability.

end quotes

So, if to date, actual climate research has yet to show that any given event was caused solely by global warming, what are Biden Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, and Biden Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, and Biden Secretary of Transportation Peter Paul Montgomery Buttigieg, and Democrat Lizzie Warren, and Biden Treasury Secretary Janet “TOODLES” Yellen, and Joe Biden himself basing their claims of a CLIMATE CRISIS on?

A fever dream of Greta Thunberg when she was five or six years old?

Stay tuned!

Re: WHERE IS THE CLIMATE CRISIS?

THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR SEPTEMBER 29, 2023 AT 9:22 PM

Paul R Plante, NYSPE says:

And while we are on this subject of CLIMATE CRISIS HYSTERIA sweeping across America in the same manner the COVID CRISIS HYSTERIA did, let’s go to an article from Daily Express US titled “Joe Biden snaps at heckler and says he will meet him ‘immediately after’ speech” by Paul Withers on 29 September 2023 where we have a call for Joe Biden to declare himself a dictator because of the CLIMATE CRISIS, to wit:

Biden, 80, was speaking at an event in Arizona on Thursday where he gave remarks about protecting democracy and honoring John McCain, who served as a Democratic senator from Arizona for more than 20 years until his death in 2018.

But events took a dramatic turn when the climate change protester, who identified himself as Kai Newkirk, began demanding the president declare a national emergency on the climate crisis.

end quotes

Yes, people, another NATIONAL EMERGENCY in America, just like COVID was a national emergency, and just like Hitler did in Germany after the Reichstag Fire, which was a national emergency, it is time for Joe Biden to do as he did during COVID, which is to take on the powers of a dictator and suspend rule of law and equal protection of law, like the dictator Vladimer Zelensky has done in Ukraine, where he has a national emergency requiring a dictator, which is the new rage today in America – replacing democracy with autocracy because of NATIONAL EMERGENCIES that democracy is not equipped to handle, which takes us back to that cry for help, to wit:

“Why have you yet to declare a climate emergency?”

“Hundreds of Arizonans have died.”

“We need you to use your full powers to confront this crisis.”

“And keep your promise.”

“Keep your promise.”

“No new drilling on [federal lands].”

“Why have you yet to declare a climate emergency?”

“Not practically but actually.”

“We need your leadership.”

“We need your leadership.”

end quotes

THE FRUITS OF FEAR MONGERING, people, where fear mongering is defined as “the action of deliberately arousing public fear or alarm about a particular issue,” in this case, the CLIMATE CRISIS, even though there really isn’t one (59 degrees up this way and rain as I write these words, which is hardly a CLIMATE CRISIS up here, anyway).

According to Wikipedia, and professional career politicians like Joe Biden who have been feeding off the taxpayers all their lives like a boll weevil in a cotton patch or a rat in a farmer’s corncrib are not only well aware of this, but further, exploit it for personal gain, fearmongering can produce a rally around the flag effect by increasing support for the incumbent political leaders.

Wikipedia tells us that fearmongering, or scaremongering, is a form of manipulation that causes fear by using exaggerated rumors of impending danger.

According to evolutionary anthropology and evolutionary biology, humans have a strong impulse to pay attention to danger because awareness of dangers has been important for survival throughout their evolutionary history.

The effect is amplified by cultural evolution when the news media cater to people’s appetite for news about dangers, as it did with COVID, and as it is now doing with the CLIMATE CRISIS, a mantra repeated over and over and over again by the members of the Biden Regime, including Joe, himself, America’s quintessential lying, dog-faced pony soldier.

Going back to Wikipedia, it informs us further that the attention of citizens like this Kai Newkirk is a fiercely contested resource that news media, political campaigners, social reformers, advertisers, civil society organizations, missionaries, and cultural event makers compete over, according to attention economy.

And as we clearly see here, fearmongering can have strong psychological effects, which may be intended or unintended.

end quotes

And here we come to the part that Joe Biden, his regime, and the Democrats are trying to exploit, to wit: collective fear is likely to produce an authoritarian mentality, desire for a strong leader, strict discipline, punitiveness, intolerance, xenophobia, and less democracy, according to regality theory.

Historically, the effect has been exploited by political entrepreneurs in many countries for purposes such as increasing support for an authoritarian government, avoiding democratization, or preparing the population for war.

end quotes

And that takes us back to the Daily Express US article on the success of Joe Biden’s CLIMATE CRISIS FEAR-MONGERING CAMPAIGN, to wit:

Following his interaction with the president, Newark in a statement to Fox News Digital: “I ask him to honor his offer to meet with me and with climate scientists and frontline leaders calling on him to use his full powers to confront what he himself calls an ‘existential threat’.”

He added in a press release: “Love and truth leave us no moral choice but to continue organizing nonviolent direct action until President Biden uses his full powers to solve this existential crisis.”

“This starts with declaring a climate emergency and keeping his promises on phasing out fossil fuels.”

end quotes

DO WE NEED A DICTATOR IN AMERICA TO DEAL WITH THE CLIMATE CRISIS THE DICTATOR WANNABEE SAYS EXISTS?

DO WE NEED JOE BIDEN TO DECLARE A CLIMATE EMERGENCY HERE IN AMERICA BECAUSE IT IS 59 DEGREES OUTSIDE HERE WHERE I AM?

THINK ABOUT IT, AMERICA – THE POLITICAL CLOCK IS NOW TICKING!

Paul R Plante, NYSPE says:

And before we bring ourselves back to the present moment to see what is really going on here with respect to this CLIMATE CRISIS FEARMONGERING by the Biden Regime and the Democrats, which is a power grab (an attempt to obtain control over something in an opportunistic or unscrupulous way), plain and simple, that by going to a Reuters article titled “US senators pressure Treasury to get more aggressive on climate crisis risks” by Andrea Shalal on September 25, 2023, where we were informed that Lizzie Warren, Bernie Sanders and four other U.S. senators are pressuring the U.S. Treasury Department to step up oversight and offer more guidance to financial institutions on addressing climate change risks threatening the U.S. financial system, to see what is really at stake here, which is our future as a sovereign nation with a government supposedly of, by and for the people of the United States, and our independence as a people from interference in our internal affairs by other nations, and our right to intellectual freedom, which encompasses the freedom to hold, receive and disseminate ideas without restriction, such as the idea that this CLIMATE CRISIS is pure Biden-esque POLITICAL BULL****, we need to drop back in time to November 3, 2021 and Keynote Remarks by Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen at COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland at the Finance Day Opening Event, where we have from “TOODLES” Yellen on our future as she sees it, as follows:

Glasgow and COP26 is a pivotal moment at the start of this decisive decade of climate action.

The climate crisis is already here.

This is not a challenge for future generations, but one we must confront today.

end quotes

OMG, PEOPLE, THE CLIMATE CRISIS IS HERE ALREADY (64 degrees here and cloudy, which is hardly a CLIMATE CRISIS)!

How do I know there is a CLIMATE CRISIS?

Because Janet “TOODLES” Yellen, who was briefed on the subject by her boss Joe Biden and his Democrat party handlers and controllers and messagers, told the people at COP26 there was and that was almost two years ago now, so there has to be, or “TOODLES” never could have said it, nor could Lizzie Warren, Bernie Sanders and the four other U.S. senators who are pressuring the U.S. Treasury Department to step up oversight and offer more guidance to financial institutions on addressing climate change risks threatening the U.S. financial system.

And here, “TOODLES” cuts right to the chase as to her plans to transform our economy to one based on Stalin-era Soviet Central Planning, to wit:

Rising to this challenge will require the wholesale transformation of our carbon-intensive economies.

It’s a global transition for which we have an estimated price tag: some have put the global figure between $100 and $150 trillion over the next three decades.

end quotes

A WHOLESALE TRANSFORMATION, people, because the CLIMATE CRISIS demands it!

What we had before is what has gotten us into the real serious trouble we are now in with the CLIMATE CRISIS, so that like with the COVID CRISIS, unless DRASTIC DICTATORIAL ACTIONS are taken by the federal government and “TOODLES” Yellen, specifically, we could all be dead by tomarrow morning, this CLIMATE CRISIS is that serious and deadly!

But, people, is all already lost?

Have we waited too long to pull the fat out of the fire?

Is it all doom and gloom looming large for us on the horizon?

Not according to “TOODLES” Yellen, anyway, to wit:

At the same time, addressing climate change is the greatest economic opportunity of our time.

end quotes

GREATEST ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY OF OUR TIME?

FOR WHOM?

And with those questions asked and a price tag of $100 and $150 trillion over the next three decades to defeat the CLIMATE CRISIS sitting on the table, let’s take a pause for station identification, and then we will be right back to see where “TOODLES” Yellen and Joe Biden are taking OUR nation as they surrender our sovereignty as a nation to the ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT of the United Nations, so stay tuned!

THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR OCTOBER 1, 2023 AT 9:52 PM

Paul R Plante, NYSPE says:

And before we go to the Reuters article titled “US senators pressure Treasury to get more aggressive on climate crisis risks” by Andrea Shalal on September 25, 2023, where we were informed that Lizzie Warren, Bernie Sanders and four other U.S. senators are pressuring the U.S. Treasury Department to step up oversight and offer more guidance to financial institutions on addressing climate change risks threatening the U.S. financial system, as we have this CLIMATE CRISIS BULL**** jammed down our throats by Joe Biden, his lackeys, lickspittles, bootlickers and sycophants to include Janet “TOODLES” Yellen, who is on her way to becoming another CZAR like John “Jackie Boy” Kerry, Gina Raimondo, Deb Haaland, Peter Paul Montgomery Buttigieg, BINDER (KJP), and hardcore, card-carrying DEMOCRATS like Lizzie Warren and Bernie “PINKO” Sanders, let’s go back for the moment to the concept of intellectual freedom, which is supposed to encompass the freedom to hold, receive and disseminate ideas without restriction, and especially as regards this supposed CLIMATE CRISIS (75 and an absolutely gorgeous fall day up here where I am which is hardly a CLIMATE CRISIS).

As Wikipedia tells us, intellectual freedom is viewed as an integral component of a democratic society, as it is supposed to protect an individual’s right to access, explore, consider, and express ideas and information as the basis for a self-governing, well-informed citizenry.

And that, people, is exactly what Joe Biden and the DEMOCRATS want to strip from us, because they DO NOT want a self-governing, well-informed citizenry.

To the contrary, they want us SCARED, MENTALLY and EMOTIONALLY CRIPPLED WITH FEAR, and thus totally unable to think clearly, a tactic employed by dictatorial regimes since the days of the Greeks, if not before.

Consider that intellectual freedom comprises the bedrock for freedoms of expression, speech, and the press and relates to freedoms of information and the right to privacy.

And here we come to the important part, for the United Nations itself, which is pushing this CLIMATE CRISIS HORSE****, is supposed to uphold intellectual freedom as a basic human right through Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which asserts:

Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

end quotes

EXCEPT WHEN THERE IS A COVID CRISIS, A CLIMATE CRISIS, OR ANY OTHER HANDY CRISIS AN AUTOCRAT OR DICTATOR WANTS TO LATCH ONTO AS A MEANS OF SIDESTEPPING OR OUTRIGHT SUPPRESSING, AS THE DICTATORIAL TWERP ZELENSKY, JOE BIDEN’S PUPPET, HAS DONE IN UKRAINE, ARTICLE 19 OF THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS!

Which is where we in America right now are on the cusp of!

Stay tuned!

THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR OCTOBER 2, 2023 AT 8:05 PM

Paul R Plante, NYSPE says:

So where are we going here, people, or more properly, where is it that we are being taken to by Joe Biden and the Democrats with respect to Joe’s CLIMATE CRISIS?

And what are the motivations of those, like the Democrats and the poorer members of the United Nations, who are pushing this CLIMATE CRISIS narrative?

As to the poorer members of the United Nations, that answer is easy – they are aiming for access to the treasury of the United States of America, and control over our internal affairs as a sovereign nation!

(See, for example, Cape Charles Mirror, Opinion: Pelosi announces formal surrender of US to IPCC, December 8, 2019, http://www.capecharlesmirror.com/opinio ... s-to-ipcc/ )

Think I’m kidding?

Not a joke!

For example, on November 3, 2021, in her “Keynote Remarks by Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen at COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland at the Finance Day Opening Event,” we had “TOODLES” Yellen confirming that very fact for us, as follows:

Many of the conversations here in Glasgow will rightfully focus on the way we use our public resources to fund climate mitigation and adaptation activities domestically and – for those in a position to do so – to assist other countries in responding to climate change.

I agree we all must do more, and the United States is stepping up.

President Biden has already announced that we are quadrupling our international climate finance for developing countries by 2024 to more than $11 billion.

end quotes

Now, keep in mind that that money, our tax dollars, are being given away by Joe Biden with no strings attached and no accountability whatsoever as to how that money is spent, or what or whom it is spent on, so there is no way to know whose pockets are being lined here, in what seems very much like a SCAM one would find Hunter Biden and the rest of the Biden clan involved in.

And then consider the ClimateWire article titled “5 things to know about Biden’s $1B climate payment” by Sara Schonhardt on 04/21/2023, where we have further confirmation of the fact that Joe Biden and the Democrats are sacrificing our sovereignty as a nation to the poorer members of the UN, to wit:

The United States is beginning to pay its overdue bills to poorer countries on the front lines of climate change.

end quote

Ah yes, people, we are rich and it is our fault that those poor nations “on the front lines of climate change,” (what an absurd statement that is, as if climate change actually has a front line somewhere), are poor, and so, it is necessary in the name of EQUITY to open up our national treasury to them, because it is the right thing to do, given we are rich and they are not, which takes us back to that article, to wit:

President Joe Biden’s $1 billion infusion to the U.N. Green Climate Fund on Thursday doubles America’s total contribution to that account, which last received a payment from the United States in 2017.

Yet the ledger tells a story of broken promises.

The United States remains in arrears from almost a decade ago, when former President Barack Obama promised to give the fund $3 billion.

The receipts show that the United States — with the biggest economy worldwide and the most carbon emissions released among all nations — is struggling to meet its international commitments on climate finance.

Total U.S. payments to the fund are $2 billion.

That’s just two-thirds of Obama’s 2014 pledge.

And it won’t get any easier.

Biden promised in 2021 to provide $11.4 billion a year in climate aid to developing nations.

With Republicans in control of the House, that’s unlikely to happen.

end quotes

And there is yet another CRISIS for Joe Biden to milk for all it is worth – the MAGA REPUBLICANS ARE GOING TO STEAL OUR DEMOCRACY CRISIS.

Going back to the ClimateWire article, it continues thusly, to wit:

It’s significant that the United States is trying to make good on its commitments.

end quote

The United States is trying to make good on its commitments?

How did it become our commitment as a nation to pay its overdue bills to poorer countries on the front lines of climate change?

WHERE ARE THE FRONT LINES OF CLIMATE CHANGE?

THERE AREN’T ANY!

LIKE THE CLIMATE CRISIS, THAT IS A MADE-UP PHRASE THAT HAS NO CONCRETE MEANING, PERIOD!

IT IS THE LANGUAGE OF MISINFORMATION AND DISINFORMATION EMPLOYED BY THE CLIMATE CRISIS LOBBY TO PUT FORTH ITS “GREEN” AGENDA!

Going back to the ClimateWire article, it continues as follows:

Climate advocates say it will help restore U.S. credibility on the global stage, and it might encourage other countries to boost their contributions.

It will also infuse the Green Climate Fund with additional money at a time when demand for adaptation and clean energy projects is outpacing what the fund can pay for.

The program’s acting director, Henry Gonzalez, said in a statement that the money would provide “urgently needed” finance for climate-vulnerable countries.

end quotes

“Climate-vulnerable” countries”

And besides another invented term, what exactly might they be?

According to Wikipedia, climate change vulnerability (or climate vulnerability or climate risk vulnerability) is a concept that describes how strongly people or ecosystems are likely to be affected by climate change.

It is defined as the “propensity or predisposition to be adversely affected” by climate change.

end quotes

So it is a subjective concept, not something concrete that can be measured and quantified, as we see by going back to Wikipedia, to wit:

Climate vulnerability can include a wide variety of different meanings, situations, and contexts in climate change research, but has been a central concept in academic research since 2005.

The concept was defined in the third IPCC report in 2007 as “the degree to which a system is susceptible to, and unable to cope with, adverse effects of climate change, including climate variability and extremes”.

The IPCC Sixth Assessment Report in 2022 stated that “approaches to analysing and assessing vulnerability have evolved since previous IPCC assessments”.

end quotes

Ah, yes, the IPCC!

The “one-world government” Joe Biden and the Democrats are surrendering our sovereignty as a nation to.

Stay tuned!

THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR OCTOBER 3, 2023 AT 8:43 PM

Paul R Plante, NYSPE says:

And before we go to the Reuters article titled “US senators pressure Treasury to get more aggressive on climate crisis risks” by Andrea Shalal on September 25, 2023 where we have Lizzie Warren, Bernie “PINKO” Sanders and four other U.S. senators pressuring “TOODLES” Yellen of the U.S. Treasury Department to step up oversight and offer more guidance to financial institutions on addressing climate change risks threatening the U.S. financial system, and where we learn that in a letter sent to “TOODLES” in the prior week, Democratic senators Warren, Martin Heinrich, Edward Markey, Sheldon Whitehouse and Jeffrey Merkley, as well as Sanders, an independent, welcomed “TOODLES” work on the issue so far but called for “added urgency” given increasing risks, telling “TOODLES” that the Treasury should act now – including through its role as head of the multi-regulator Financial Stability Oversight Council – to address systemic risks becoming evident in a crash in coastal property values, insurance market failures, and uninsurable wildfire risks, for a look at where this CLIMATE CRISIS BULL**** started, let’s drop back in time to the December 29, 2019 episode of the Cape Charles Mirror and the article by Wayne Creed titled “Climate Prediction: We only have 5 days to live,” where we who are alive today find out what killed us all and made everything on earth, including humans, extinct back in 2020, to wit:

According to experts, climate change will result in “millions” of deaths, major European cities being sunken, nuclear war and global environmental riots by 2020…all within the next 5 days.

No, actually this was reported by the Guardian on February 22, 2004.

“Climate change over the next 20 years could result in a global catastrophe costing millions of lives in wars and natural disasters.”

“A secret report, suppressed by US defence chiefs and obtained by The Observer, warns that major European cities will be sunk beneath rising seas as Britain is plunged into a ‘Siberian’ climate by 2020.”

“Nuclear conflict, mega-droughts, famine and widespread rioting will erupt across the world,” the report added.

The authors of the report, Peter Schwartz and Doug Randall, also asserted that “By 2020 ‘catastrophic’ shortages of water and energy supply will become increasingly harder to overcome, plunging the planet into war,” causing widespread “crop failure” and “famine.”

end quotes

Ah, yes, people, TO GAIN POLITICAL CONTROL, SOW HYSTERIA!

TELL PEOPLE OVER AND OVER THERE IS A CLIMATE CRISIS, THE WORLD IS GOING TO END, THE SKY WILL FALL, AND THE MAGA REPUBLICANS ARE GOING TO STEAL THE SOUL OF AMERICA, AND THEY WILL ACCEPT IT AS THE TRUTH BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT AND SCIENTISTS SAID SO AND BECAUSE SCARED PEOPLE CANNOT THINK STRAIGHT TO QUESTION ANY OF IT, NOR WILL THEY EVEN TRY!

That is how we came to have a CLIMATE CRISIS today, based on nothing but HYSTERICAL BULL****, and that takes us back to Reuters and Democratic senators Lizzie Warren, Martin Heinrich, Edward Markey, Sheldon Whitehouse and Jeffrey Merkley, and Bernie Sanders, as follows:

“As climate financial impacts grow, the Climate Hub and Treasury must pursue with added urgency all available measures to address the climate crisis and its threat to the stability of our financial system,” the senators wrote in the previously undisclosed letter, a copy of which was obtained by Reuters.

end quotes

And there we have it again – the CLIMATE CRISIS!

BE VERY SCARED, PEOPLE!

And these Democrats want Janet “TOODLES” Yellen, an incompetent, to pursue with added urgency all available measures to address the climate crisis and its threat to the stability of our financial system?

That’s a sick joke!

Going back to Reuters, we have more, as follows:

The Treasury had no immediate comment on the letter dated Sept. 20.

The senators called on Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and newly appointed climate counselor Ethan Zindler, a climate and clean energy research executive, to do more to protect the U.S. economy from what Yellen has described as the “existential threat” posed by climate change.

end quotes

And there we have the other buzz word being brought forth, that being “existential threat,” and that mention of Ethan Zindler brings us to July 27, 2023 and “Treasury Announces New Climate Counselor,” where we were informed by “TOODLES” Yellen, as follows:

WASHINGTON — Today, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen announced the appointment of Ethan Zindler to serve as the Treasury Department’s new Climate Counselor.

Mr. Zindler will lead the Treasury Climate Hub, report directly to and advise the Secretary on a broad range of climate matters, and be charged with leading Treasury’s efforts to facilitate and unlock the financing needed for investments to achieve a net-zero economy at home and abroad.

“I am pleased to announce Ethan Zindler as my Climate Counselor and the head of the Treasury Department’s Climate Hub.”

“Ethan will bring analytical rigor and decades of experience in the climate space to this role and to the Treasury Department, and he will build on the Climate Hub’s strong track record of results.”

“That will be essential in the Department’s work as we implement key components of the Inflation Reduction Act, further spur on historic clean energy investments across the United States, and work internationally to help countries meet their own climate goals,” said Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen.

“The threat of climate change has been something that I’ve spoken about for decades, and it’s something that we increasingly see in our daily lives.”

“I believe it is imperative that we continue to take decisive action to fight climate change, for the sake of our planet and for the benefit of the global economy.”

end quotes

DECISIVE ACTION TO FIGHT CLIMATE CHANGE?

(Cue “Who’ll Stop The Rain,” Creedence Clearwater Revival https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9MXNbpXQ3g )

DO TELL, “TOODLES!”

Re: WHERE IS THE CLIMATE CRISIS?

Post by thelivyjr »

THE CAPE CHARLES MIRROR OCTOBER 5, 2023 AT 9:31 PM

Paul R Plante, NYSPE says:

So, seriously people, are we sane and rational Americans who read the Cape Charles Mirror to honestly believe that Janet “TOODLES” Yellen, the incompetent Biden treasury secretary and former Obama fed chief who told us the inflation caused by Joe Biden’s massive BORROW-AND-SPEND fiscal policy was “transitory,” and who then told us on July 27, 2023 that the “threat” of climate change has been something that she has spoken about for decades, and it’s something that we increasingly see in our daily lives (not hardly because it 81 and sunny here with a clear sky, an absolutely gorgeous fall day given that temperatures are on their way back down next week), is at all in any way capable of and competent to take decisive action to fight climate change, for the sake of our planet and for the benefit of the global economy?

Are we truly that stupid?

To believe that the incompetent Janet “TOODLES” Yellen herself can take decisive action to fight climate change, for the sake of our planet and for the benefit of the global economy, we literally would have to believe that “TOODLES” not only can control the weather, and I am sure there are people who would believe that, starting with Joe Biden himself, who believes he can control the weather, along with our individual lives, but control the economies of every nation on the face of the earth, when she can’t even control ours.

And with all her flitting around and jet-setting to push Joe Biden’s INSANE GREEN DREAM like the good soldier she is, “TOODLES” isn’t taking decisive action to fight climate change, for the sake of our planet and for the benefit of the global economy, she is contributing to climate change.

And what about her claim on July 27, 2023 that the “threat” of climate change has been something that she has spoken about for decades, and it’s something that we increasingly see in our daily lives?

First of all, the only “climate” Janet “TOODLES” Yellen is exposed to in her protected life is the climate-controlled interior of her limo, or the climate-controlled cabin of an aircraft hauling her around to pitch BIDE-O-NOMICS, or a climate-controlled office or conference room somewhere, and she is totally clueless as to what we see increasingly in our daily lives.

As to any speaking out she may have done, let’s go back in time several decades to Thursday, July 17, 1997, and “Statement before the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works – Dr. Janet Yellen, Chair, Council of Economic Advisers,” to see what it is we might see on that subject, to wit:

Good afternoon, Mr. Chairman and members of the Committee.

I appreciate the opportunity to discuss with you today the economics of global climate change.

end quotes

Ah, yes, the “economics of global climate change,” people, which is hardly the same as speaking out about the “threat” of climate change, something she says that she has spoken about for decades.

Going back to July 17, 1997, “TOODLES” rambles on as follows:

In his speech to the United Nations Special Session on Environment and Development in June, President Clinton emphasized that the risks posed by global climate change are real and that sensible preventive steps are justified.

end quote

Bill Clinton?

Is she joshing us?

Is she pulling our legs?

Or is she just being the good little political soldier she is?

What on earth would Bill Clinton know about “risks” supposedly posed by global climate change?

Let’s go back to July 17, 1997, and she how “TOODLES” deals with that, to wit:

This assessment accords with the views of the more than 2300 economists, including 8 Nobel laureates, who signed a statement supporting measures to reduce the threat of climate change.

end quote

More that 2300 economists?

And what on earth would they know about reducing the threat of climate change, given how wrong they are on a daily basis about how our own economy functions?

So once again, back we go to “TOODLES” on July 17, 1997, where we have this explanation, to wit:

The economists endorsed the conclusions from last year’s report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which said that governments should take steps to reduce the threat of damage from global warming, and went on to argue that market-based policies can slow climate change without harming the American economy.

end quotes

Market-based policies can slow climate change without harming the American economy?

Then why haven’t they?

That is 1997, afterall, which is twenty-six (26) years ago now.

What have they been waiting for?

Going back once more to “TOODLES” 26 years ago in 1997, this is what we learn about that, to wit:

At this time the Administration has not settled on a particular set of new policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Instead, the President indicated in his U.N. speech that he intends to engage in a discussion with all interested parties about the problems posed by greenhouse gas accumulations and the costs and benefits of corrective action.

To this end, the President will hold a White House conference on climate change later this year, and Members of his Cabinet and other senior Administration officials will meet with Members of Congress, scientific and economic experts, environmentalists, local government officials, and business and labor leaders on a regular basis over the next several months to discuss issues related to climate change.

This process is intended to inform the Administration’s decision-making process, which will culminate in a U.S. policy position in the international negotiations in Kyoto in December of this year.

end quotes

What a bunch of mealy-mouth, political HORSE****, people!

We have a HUGE PROBLEM confronting us, so let’s dither!

And with that said, let’s cut to a commercial break where in the next ten hours you will be barraged with a continuous slew of commercials informing you about the problems posed by greenhouse gas accumulations and the costs and benefits of corrective action, and why you should buy a heat pump and an electric car to save the world from the threat of climate change, and after station identification, we will be right back, so stay tuned!
